Auf nach Argus! Die Patchnotes zu WoW Patch 7.3

On August 30, the final content patch 7.3 for World of Warcraft: Legion will be released on the live servers. According to all the preliminary information that has already been spread or taken from the PTR, the official patch notes are now also available.

The reveal ceremony by Blizzard at gamescom promised many innovations in various universes. With many fantastic cinematics, it was also shown what awaits us on Argus – along with the subsequent German patch notes.

As we already mentioned in our article on PTR class balance, there will be significant changes especially for Frost Death Knights and Feral Druids. The adjustments have been adopted with few changes and now hopefully offer alternative playstyles for the two specializations.

Also the already announced new combat animations as well as the changes to the artifact weapons and the Netherlight Crucible are included in the patch alongside the new dungeon Seat of Triumph and changes to balance in PvP.

Patch notes for WoW Patch 7.3 Shadows of Argus

The heroes of Azeroth venture once again into a foreign world, only this time without their own add-on. The Vindikaar takes us to Argus, where we will face the final battle with the Legion for the planet. Here are the details of the innovations:

Argus

After the recent events on the Broken Isles, a connection has been established between Azeroth and Argus, the home world of Kil’jaeden, bringing the Burning Legion’s destruction of Azeroth alarmingly close. To stop them once and for all, Illidan and Velen are bringing the war to Argus, where they plan to ally with Alleria, Turalyon, and the Army of the Light to assault the Legion’s operations base.

Enter the Vindikaar, a ship that serves as your mobile operations base on Argus and represents one of your few safe havens on the planet.
As you explore Argus, you will enter new locations across the planet, experience the epic conclusion of the Legion’s story, and unlock new world quests and other content in the process.

Invasion Points

Azeroth is not the only world connected to this hostile place. On Argus, you can enter those portals through which the Burning Legion invades other worlds. Once you’re there, you can complete an event or defeat a boss to earn epic rewards.

New Dungeon: Seat of Triumph

This long-decayed temple was once the centerpiece of the ancient civilization of the Eredar, where Velen, Archimonde, and Kil’jaeden ruled over their people. Visit it together with Velen to retrieve an ancient relic of power and fight the darkness that has taken hold of this sacred place. In this new dungeon for five players in the ruins of Mac’Aree on Argus, you will encounter four bosses:

Zuraal the Ascended

  • Zuraal represents the first successful attempt by the Shadowguard to enhance a Broken one with Void energy without it succumbing to madness. In his previous life, he was a famous fighter, and now he uses his new dark power to annihilate his enemies with devastating attacks.

Saprish

  • With infallible tactical calculation, Saprish sends the Shadowguard troops into battle. Although he is a capable leader and strategist, Saprish enjoys intervening in the battle himself. He is a master at turning his opponents’ mistakes against them, leaving them weakened and at the mercy of his hungry favorites.

Vice King Nezhar

  • True to his kind, Vice King Nezhar is obsessed with using the power of the Void for his ambitions. The immense darkness emanating from the Seat of Triumph has lured him here, and Nezhar will stop at nothing to claim it for himself. Given the successes Nezhar has had in filling receptive vessels with the power of Shadow, one can only imagine what he could unleash on Argus.

L’ura

  • When Velen and his followers fled from Argus aboard the Genedar, the Naaru L’ura stayed behind to buy the Draenei time to escape. Furious over this betrayal, Kil’jaeden commanded that the wounded Naaru be imprisoned in the Seat of Triumph. Over the millennia, L’ura fell from the Light into the Void. Her graceful song of courage and hope turned into a mournful dirge of despair, luring those who wish to seize her.

A more detailed overview of the Seat of Triumph can be found in our article about the dungeon.

Existing features have also been picked up and improved. Of course, this includes the most important items from Legion, the artifact weapons, as well as improvements to dungeons, professions, and pet battles.

World Quests in Argus

While you explore the new areas in Argus, you will unlock new world quests and new emissaries that urgently need your help.

Artifact Adjustments

Activate the Netherlight Crucible aboard the Vindikaar with the power of Argus, allowing you to unlock the secret potential of your artifact relics. With the Netherlight Crucible, you can enhance and customize relics, thereby increasing their raw power. You can choose from a range of additional powers, including a second artifact bonus that you can improve.

Combat Animations

All three mage and priest specializations, elemental and restoration shamans will receive new and updated animations, effects, and sound effects. Restoration druids will receive updated animations.

Order Halls, Champions, and Missions

Your Order Hall and its champions have played a central role in defending Azeroth. You will continue to need to rely on them to tackle the new challenges in Argus. You will find dozens of new missions as well as new troop types there. In addition, the item level of your champions will be raised to 950.

Dungeons

The loot from normal, heroic, and mythical dungeons has been increased by 20 item levels:

  • Normal: Item Level 845
  • Heroic: Item Level 865
  • Mythic: Item Level 885

Rewards for mythic keystones now scale up to a cap of item level 915 in the dungeon and item level 935 in the weekly chests. Both have a cap of Mythic Keystone 10. This cap will be raised to Mythic Keystone 15 at a later date.
The difficulty of heroic and mythic dungeons has been increased to correspond to the enhanced rewards. The difficulty of normal dungeons remains unchanged.

Pet Battles

Battle your way through the raids of Cataclysm and find new battle pets for the eagerly awaited achievement On a Leash: Raid V: Nettastrophe. After revisiting the Bastion of Twilight, the Throne of Four Winds, Firelands, and Dragon Soul, you will be able to flaunt countless elemental pets.

Our scouts have reported 18 legendary boss pets scattered throughout Argus. These mini-monsters possess otherworldly abilities unknown to the residents of Azeroth, such as the slightly terrifying ability ‘Great Apocalypse’. Additionally, reports indicate that more than a dozen different companions can be captured on Argus, including a special selection you can only acquire through rewards and the new achievement A Matter of Style.

Professions on a New Planet

A new chapter for professions opens on Argus. You will find new nodes for herbalism and mining, new materials for skinning and tailoring, and the new soulbound reagent Ursargerit. Keep an eye out for items that can be crafted by artisans, as well as a new shoulder enchant that provides you with Argus-specific materials.

At the same time, six known NPCs have embarked into the fishing world. Visit Akule Flusshorn, Corbyn, Ilyssia of the Waters, Wichtlus, Keeper Raynae, or Sha’leth every day to earn reputation and familiarize yourself with their new rewards. This way you can eventually earn the achievement “Angler Friend of the Isles” and unlock a new model for your artifact fishing rod Deep Light Angler.

Some content has also undergone major changes – especially the classes, where balance has been adjusted. However, there are also changes to items, the Order Hall, and in PvP.

Achievements

For the achievements “Representative”, “Ten Capes”, “Twenty-Five Capes”, and “Thirty Capes”, you now need to collect a certain number of unique capes. You no longer need to equip the capes for these achievements.

Artifact Knowledge

The orders work together to increase artifact knowledge. Artifact knowledge increases for all players every week at the same rate, without needing to issue work orders.

Classes

The efficiency of the avoidance statistic has been reduced by 27% across all levels.

  • Death Knight
    • Frost
      • The synergy of ‘Hungering Rune Weapon’ and ‘Sindragosa’s Breath’ has so far dominated the specialization and allowed little variation. We will adjust this combination and, to balance it, increase the overall damage. This will allow for a more versatile selection of talents. All three talents at level 100 have been adjusted for balance reasons and now play a bit smoother. ‘Hungering Rune Weapon’ should still require quick action and a bit of planning when used, but no longer overwhelm the Death Knight with resources.
        • All dealt damage has been increased by 14%.
        • ‘Hungering Rune Weapon’ now occupies the level 100 talent row, taking the place of ‘Unstoppable Glacier’. ‘Unstoppable Glacier’ is now on the level 58 row.
        • The damage of ‘Sindragosa’s Breath’ has been increased by 10%.
        • The duration of ‘Hungering Rune Weapon’ has been reduced to 12 seconds (previously 15 seconds). ‘Hungering Rune Weapon’ now additionally grants 20% haste.
        • The duration of ‘Blight’ has been increased to 10 seconds (previously 8 seconds).
        • ‘Blight’ now causes ‘Howling Blast’ to also grant ‘Killing Machine’ (in addition to ‘Frost Strike’).
        • These changes, combined, reduce the tendency of Frost to grant more resources in many of its talent or legendary configurations than can be spent.
        • The cooldown of ‘Horn of Winter’ has been increased to 45 seconds (previously 30 seconds).
        • The proc chance of ‘Killer Efficiency’ has been reduced to 50% (previously 65%).
        • Koltira’s newfound will now generates 1 rune (previously 2) and causes ‘Blight’ to deal 10% additional damage.
        • The following talents have been shifted in the talent tree to provide more options and balanced choices. Targeted balance adjustments were necessary.
        • ‘Runic Cycle’ is now located at level 56, ‘Killer Efficiency’ at level 57, and ‘Frozen Pulse’ at level 90.
        • The effect of ‘Freezing Fog’ has been reduced to 20% (previously 30%).
        • The damage from ‘Frozen Pulse’ has been reduced by 39%.
        • The bonus from ‘Icy Claws’ has been increased to 15% (previously 10%).
        • The bonus from ‘Shattering Blows’ has been increased to 60% (previously 40%).
        • The line for situational talents at level 75 can now better counter situations where Frost offers comparatively less mobility.
        • ‘Anti-Magic Feedback’ now causes ‘Anti-Magic Barrier’ to generate an additional 100% rune power (previously: removes the generation of rune power) and no longer deals damage.
        • ‘White Walker’ has been replaced by the new talent ‘Relentless Assault’: For every second spent in combat where no enemy is within 8 meters, you gain a stack of ‘Relentless Assault’. Each stack causes your next automatic attack to deal additional Frost damage.
wow-death-knight-artwork
  • Druid
    • All Specializations
      • ‘Mass Entanglement’ now has a range of 15 meters from the target.
      • The cooldown of ‘Prowl’ has been reduced to 6 seconds (previously 10 seconds).
      • ‘Rebirth’ can now be cast in all forms.
    • Feral
      • In the adjustments to Feral, we focus on two problems of the specialization: on the one hand, we want to reduce the dominance of complex talents like ‘Savage Roar’, ‘Shred’, and ‘Bloodtalons’. On the other hand, we want to reduce the disparity in dealt damage between learning the specialization and perfect play. Feral has always been a difficult specialization to play, and we do not want to change that. However, through these adjustments, the specialization is now less intimidating, and players who still need to learn its nuances are at less of a disadvantage.
        • All dealt damage has been increased by 33%.
        • The damage bonus of ‘Bloodtalons’ has been reduced to 20% (previously 50%). ‘Bloodtalons’ will now also trigger when ‘Entangling Roots’ is cast.
        • The cooldown of ‘Elune’s Guidance’ has been reduced to 30 seconds (previously 45 seconds) and the granted combo points have been reduced to 5 + 5 over 5 seconds (previously 5 + 8 over 8 seconds).
        • We fixed an issue related to ‘Incarnation: King of the Jungle’ where the optional additional energy costs of 25 from ‘Wild Bite’ were not reduced as intended by 50%.
        • ‘Prowl’ can only be used once during the duration of ‘Incarnation: King of the Jungle’. When ‘Incarnation: King of the Jungle’ is active, all ability costs in cat form are now reduced by 50% (previously 60%).
        • ‘Shred’ now causes abilities ‘Claw’, ‘Maul’, and ‘Swipe’ to deal their normal damage in a 20% shorter time frame (previously 33%).
The damage bonus of ‘Moment of Clarity’ for all affected abilities has been increased to 20% (previously 15%). ‘Moment of Clarity’ now also applies to ‘Brutal Slash’.
        • ‘Predator’s Swiftness’ now does not affect ‘Rebirth’ anymore and is not consumed by ‘Rebirth’.
        • The damage bonus of ‘Saber Tooth’ for ‘Wild Bite’ has been increased to 20% (previously 15%).
        • The duration of ‘Savage Roar’ has been increased by 50% at all combo point levels, and the damage bonus has been reduced to 15% (previously 25%).
        • ‘Flesh Tearer’ (artifact bonus) now increases the damage of ‘Claw’ by 6% per rank (previously 7%).
      • The following talents have been shifted in the talent tree to provide more options and balanced choices.
        • ‘Elune’s Guidance’ is now located at the level 100 talent row, taking the place of ‘Brutal Slash’. ‘Brutal Slash’ is now on the level 90 row.
        • ‘Shred’ is now located at the level 75 talent row, taking the place of ‘Savage Roar’. ‘Savage Roar’ is now on the level 90 row.
      • The rhythm of using area-effect abilities now fits better with the remaining abilities of Feral.
        • The energy cost of ‘Paw Strike’ has been reduced to 40 (previously 45).
        • The energy cost of ‘Swipe’ has been reduced to 45 (previously 50).
        • ‘Swipe’ now generates 1 combo point when it hits a target.
      • Since it is basically part of the strategy to keep ‘Savage Roar’ always available, the effect of the ability, where the druid deals increased damage during its duration, did not provide interesting gameplay opportunities and led to additional complications at most. In comparison, ‘Tiger Fury’ and ‘Bloodtalons’ provide a more interesting gameplay experience because these abilities can only be used in limited instances.
        • ‘Savage Roar’ now dynamically increases the damage of periodic damage abilities of Feral druids, based on whether ‘Savage Roar’ is active at the time of an individual damage event or not. Previously, periodic damage abilities of Feral druids dealt a certain amount of damage over the course of their effect duration, depending on whether ‘Savage Roar’ was active at the time of their use. The functionality of ‘Tiger Fury’ and ‘Bloodtalons’ remain unchanged.
World of Warcraft Tauren Druid
  • Hunter
    • The type Porcupine has been renamed to Druid.
  • Monk
    • Windwalker
      • The damage of ‘Rushing Jade Wind’ has been increased by 22%.
    • Nearly all sources of damage are now covered by versatility. These two should not be an exception:
      • The damage of ‘Touch of Death’ is now increased by versatility.
      • The damage of ‘Touch of Karma’ is now increased by versatility.
  • Paladin
    • The vendor of class mounts for paladins now offers a glyph for sale that allows paladins to transform their ‘Divine Steed’ into their class mount.
    • ‘Blessing of Sacrifice’ now reliably prevents the paladin casting the ability from falling below 20% health.
      • Developer’s note: With this fix for ‘Blessing of Sacrifice’, we address the issue that one could fall below the specified health and occasionally even die. You can now count on ‘Blessing of Sacrifice’ to work as intended.
    • Retribution
    • Traits and legendary items that enhance ‘Crusade’ remain attractive options but don’t stand out as much from the rest as they once did.
      • The damage of all abilities has been increased by 6%.
      • Thrayn’s Chain now stacks additively with ‘Crusade’ as intended.
      • The bonus from ‘Wrath of the Ashbringer’ has been reduced to 2 seconds per rank (previously 2.5 seconds per rank).
      • The mastery effect on the damage of ‘Judgment’ has been increased by 46%, and the mastery effect on the strength of the debuff effect of ‘Judgment’ has been increased by 17%.
      • The damage of ‘Judgment’ has been increased by 17%.
      • The bonus from ‘Righteous Blade’ has been reduced to 4% per rank (previously 5% per rank).
      • ‘Unyielding Will’ is no longer triggered when you are under the effect of ‘Sleep Canister’.
    • Protection
    • The difference between ‘Seraphim’ builds and other builds regarding damage per second and survivability is now much smaller. Builds that do not use ‘Seraphim’ now deal more damage, and ‘Seraphim’ builds do not have to sacrifice as much defense as before.
      • The cooldown of ‘Seraphim’ has been increased to 45 seconds (previously 30 seconds).
      • The damage of the following abilities has been increased by 8%: ‘Vengeance Shield’, ‘Judgment’, ‘Hammer of the Righteous’, ‘Blessed Hammer’, ‘Consecration’, ‘Shield of the Righteous’, ‘Eye of Tyr’.
      • ‘Bulwark of the Silver Hand’ now grants 35% armor (previously 20%).
WoW Legion Artifact Paladin Ashbringer
  • Shaman
    • Elemental
      • The damage of ‘Earthquake’ has been increased by 19%.
      • ‘Static Overload’ has been reworked: After casting ‘Stormkeeper’, your next ‘Chain Lightning’ will trigger ‘Elemental Overload’ on each target.
    • Elemental can still rely on strong area-effect abilities, but we want to make single-target damage somewhat more attractive.
      • The damage of all abilities has been increased by 6% (except for ‘Chain Lightning’).
      • The damage of ‘Earth Shock’ has been increased by 7%.
      • The damage of ‘Frost Shock’ has been increased by 13%.
    • With these changes, Elemental can benefit much more from its mastery value before reaching the 100% triggering chance cap.
      • The damage of ‘Elemental Strike’ has been increased by 7%.
      • ‘Elemental Strike’ now grants 2,000 values at level 110 (previously 2,400).
      • ‘Elemental Overload’ now deals 85% of base damage (previously 75%) and the triggering chance has been reduced by 17%.
      • The bonus from ‘Totemic Mastery: Storm Totem’ has been reduced to 5% (previously 10%).
  • Warlock
    • Healthstones now heal 25% of the user’s health at all levels.
      • Developer’s note: Healthstones are now effective even at current health values in long-term content.
  • Warrior
    • Fury
      • The damage bonus of ‘Steamroller’ has been reduced to 3% per stack (previously 5% per stack).
      • The damage of ‘Execute’ has been increased by 20%.
