World Quests have a similar significance in Battle for Azeroth as they do in WoW: Legion. They serve as a point of contact for daily rewards and reputation. But how do you unlock World Quests in Battle for Azeroth? And what do they do differently than in Legion?
Similar prerequisites as in Legion: World Quests in Battle for Azeroth have similar prerequisites as in WoW: Legion. You must reach the maximum level and complete a few tasks before gaining access to daily quests.
How to Unlock World Quests in Battle for Azeroth
After reaching level 120 with a character, you need to complete three war campaigns. These send you to the enemy continent – Zandalar for the Alliance, Kul Tiras for the Horde. The war campaigns work similarly to the order campaigns. However, they are the same for every character of the faction and are not class-bound.
Once you have completed the war campaigns, you need to gather reputation. You will find three new factions where you must reach the status “friendly”:
Alliance
- Stormwake (Stormsong Valley)
- Admiralty of Proudmoore (Tiragarde Sound)
- Order of Embers (Drustvar)
Horde
- Zandalari Empire (Zuldazar)
- Talanji’s Expedition (Nazmir)
- Voldunai (Vol’dun)
Once you have collected the required reputation, you gain access to the World Quests and a Flight Master’s Whistle. The whistle takes you to the nearest Flight Master to make questing more efficient.
What Remains the Same with World Quests
New Quests, Old Rewards: For the World Quests, you receive rewards like in Legion. You can expect gold, artifact power, war resources, crafting materials, and gear. The gear scales with your item level to allow for upgrades at all times.
There will be Emissary Quests again: The Emissary quest system returns. Every day, you receive a task from a faction to complete World Quests and have three days to do so. Unlike in Legion, you won’t receive boxes for this; you will see the rewards directly.
What Changes with World Quests
More Rewards through War Mode: In Battle for Azeroth, open PvP is replaced by War Mode. If you activate it, you will be placed in a phase with other players in War Mode where you can fight each other.
If you activate War Mode, you receive 10% more gold and artifact power for World Quests. This is intended to balance out the fact that you will likely take longer since you will probably visit the spirit healer multiple times.
Reputation with any faction through Contracts: A special innovation is brought by scribes. The profession can craft contracts with all factions. Through these contracts, you earn reputation with the respective faction for every completed World Quest.
World Quests for both factions on both continents: Primarily, the World Quests for the Alliance are located on Kul Tiras and for the Horde on Zandalar, their respective home continents. However, in Battle for Azeroth, you will also be able to complete quests in enemy territory.
You have two neutral factions and one war faction available on each enemy continent offering World Quests:
- Tortollan Seekers (neutral)
- Champions of Azeroth (neutral)
- 7th Legion (Alliance)
- Honorbound (Horde)
