The naval battle spectacle World of Warships receives a new faction. The French Navy makes its debut with a complete line of 10 cruisers. They all stand out for their high speed, making them particularly effective destroyer hunters.
World of Warships has primarily focused on the major nations of World War II so far. Therefore, Germany, the USA, Japan, Russia, and Great Britain are well represented with ships.
From now on, however, the French are also part of the game.
World of Warships – Fast, deadly, French!
The naval forces of the “Grande Nation” were not very active during World War II, but the French Republic still had a few impressive ships in the ports. You can now take these ships, as well as a few post-war models, into battle in World of Warships.
In addition to the existing premium battleship Dunkerque, the current update brings ten standard unlockable French ships of the cruiser type to the game. Most of these are armed with light but quick-firing guns and fast torpedoes. Together with the high speed and good maneuverability of these ships, an ideal profile emerges: destroyer defense!
World of Warships – Death to the destroyers!
Destroyers are fast and agile, but they have little chance against cruisers with their small guns. The torpedo spreads of the small killer ships can be dodged quite well by the cruisers. The broadsides of the French cruisers are of little use against heavier ships, but light tin cans like destroyers cannot withstand such constant fire for long.
So, if you enjoy capturing mission objectives and liberating yourself from pesky destroyers, you should have fun with the French cruisers. Thanks to their torpedo armament, these fast French ships can also sink aircraft carriers and other cruisers in close combat.
