World of Warcraft: Legion is coming soon, and of course, the question arises: “Who has the highest… damage output?” To ensure that this question regarding the WoW DPS ranking remains unanswered, we have conducted some research and compiled a current DPS list with the damage charts from 2016 for all relevant classes in WoW Legion!
Update: The damage in the latest update is – WoW: DPS Ranking 7.2 – Which class deals the most damage in raids?
“We need more DPS!” This devastating verdict from the raid leader is something no one wants to hear, but how can you know if a certain damage number for the class you are playing is sufficient? Quite simply, using a DPS list derived from the analysis of logs and DPS meters! And exactly such ranking lists and DPS charts we have compiled here for you. This gives you a comparison of the current DPS values of different classes so you can identify the current best damage dealers. The current version is still based on the state of WoW Patch 7.0.3 and was created using the simulation Ask Mr Robot, which provides the corresponding logs and DPS meters. All values take into account the use of flasks and buff food. Should the values change in upcoming updates, we will adjust this list accordingly.

Please enjoy this list with caution, because if the classes are too far apart, Blizzard will surely make quick adjustments. So anyone who chooses a class just because it currently deals the highest (theoretical) damage could find themselves in a healthy middle ground a patch or two later. This list of DPS charts is therefore only a first orientation. During “Legion,” your artifact weapon has a significant impact. A small advantage of one or two traits of the artifact weapon can already make a big difference in DPS.
A small note to mobile users: To view the tables optimally, you should view them in landscape mode.
The Rogue
Azeroth is searching for the super DPS, and if one is found, it’s certainly a rogue! Because the sneaky fighter is clearly the king of DPS classes, and no matter which of the three specializations you choose, if you know your craft, you’ll top the DPS rankings! Here we have chosen a human as the race.

The Monk
The sprightly monk may be a peaceful fellow, but with his martial arts, he can deal significant damage. Thus, the monk is one of the best DPS classes in Legion and should earn a fixed place in every raid. Our monk was, by the way, a dwarf.

| 881 (BIS) | 491.641 |
The Hunter
No matter how the hunter approaches, he rocks! Because the wild hunter is one of the top DPS in Legion! Especially as a Marksmanship Hunter, he deals heavy DPS numbers. The hunter was also a dwarf.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Marksmanship | 450 seconds | 843 | 224.567 |
| 878 (BIS) | 326.843 | |||

| Multi-Target | Beast Mastery | 360 seconds | 842 | 277.738 |
| 878 | 395.019 |
The Mage
Mages are solid DPS dealers and are divided into the specializations Fire, Arcane, and Frost. Fire has the best DPS overall. The values are based on a human mage.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Fire | 450 seconds | 843 | 223.282 |
| 880 (BIS) | 337.911 | |||
| Multi-Target | Fire | 360 seconds | 843 | 292.794 |
| 880 (BIS) | 469.209 | |||
| Single-Target | Frost | 450 seconds | 841 | 194.767 |
| 878 (BIS) | 300.037 | |||

| 878 | 289.651 | |||
| Multi-Target | Arcane | 360 seconds | 843 | 230.586 |
| 878 | 297.457 |
The Warlock

Who needs mages when you have a warlock? The dark sorcerer conjures good DPS numbers, and no matter which of the three specializations you choose, they all work well! The values here were created with a human warlock.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Affliction | 450 seconds | 841 | 203.758 |
| 878 (BIS) | 351.699 | |||
| Multi-Target | Affliction | 360 seconds | 841 | 220.259 |
| 878 (BIS) | 389.941 | |||
| Single-Target | Demonology | 450 seconds | 842 | 212.723 |
| 879 (BIS) | 325.293 | |||

| 879 (BIS) | 339.057 | |||
| Single-Target | Destruction | 450 seconds | 841 | 202.628 |
| 879 | 282.551 | |||
| Multi-Target | Destruction | 360 seconds | 841 | 246.055 |
| 879 | 347.733 |
The Warrior
Warriors are a very good DPS class and are currently performing well in Legion. We have differentiated between the specializations “Fury” and “Arms.” Both are quite close, though the Fury Warrior performs slightly better in single-target DPS, while the Arms Warrior has the edge in multi-target scenarios. Our warrior here was a troll.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Arms | 450 seconds | 841 | 183.775 |
| 877 (BIS) | 269.663 | |||
| Multi-Target | Arms | 360 seconds | 841 | 310.125 |
| 877 (BIS) | 473.202 | |||
| Single-Target | Fury | 450 seconds | 842 | 199.460 |
| 879 (BIS) | 299.793 | |||
| Multi-Target | Fury | 360 seconds | 842 | 294.904 |
| 879 (BIS) | 439.645 |
The Demon Hunter
The brand new Demon Hunter excels as a DPS class with the specialization “Havoc” and does not need to hide from other DPS classes. We had a night elf Demon Hunter.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Havoc | 450 seconds | 842 | 197.503 |
| 879 (BIS) | 295.562 | |||
| Multi-Target | Havoc | 360 seconds | 842 | 293.738 |
| 879 (BIS) | 448.215 |
The Shaman
Shamans are formidable DPS dealers and are among the top damage classes in Legion, both at range and in melee! Especially the Elemental specialization can hold its own in raw numbers. For the Elemental Shaman, we had a Draenei as the race, while the Enhancement Shaman was a Dwarf.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Elemental | 450 seconds | 842 | 215.455 |
| 879 (BIS) | 318.555 | |||
| Multi-Target | Elemental | 360 seconds | 842 | 271.068 |
| 879 (BIS) | 412.489 | |||
| Single-Target | Enhancement | 450 seconds | 842 | 208.813 |
| 881 (BIS) | 313.867 | |||
| Multi-Target | Enhancement | 360 seconds | 842 | 251.267 |
| 881 (BIS) | 364.271 |
The Death Knight

Death Knights may look grim and dangerous, but they are only average damage dealers. However, they are still good enough to be included in raids. Here, a gnome was available as the race.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Unholy | 450 seconds | 843 | 203.053 |
| 875 (BIS) | 290.840 | |||
| Multi-Target | Unholy | 360 seconds | 843 | 260.740 |
| 875 (BIS) | 372.114 | |||
| Single-Target | Frost | 450 seconds | 844 | 168.773 |
| 876 (BIS) | 263.424 | |||
| Multi-Target | Frost | 360 seconds | 844 | 230.943 |
| 876 (BIS) | 340.060 |
The Druid
Druids are versatile and have a suitable specialization for every role, but unfortunately, the DPS variants Balance and Feral have become only moderately good damage dealers in Legion. Our druid here was a furry Worgen.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Balance | 450 seconds | 841 | 214.918 |
| 878 (BIS) | 313.922 | |||
| Multi-Target | Balance | 360 seconds | 841 | 283.099 |
| 878 (BIS) | 407.905 | |||
| Single-Target | Feral | 450 seconds | 843 | 206.138 |
| 876 (BIS) | 284.751 | |||
| Multi-Target | Feral | 360 seconds | 843 | 233.907 |
| 876 (BIS) | 323.732 | |||
| 879 (BIS) | 439.645 |
The Priest
Hard to believe, but the Shadow Priest hits harder than the Paladin! However, the Priest remains a better healer and is inferior to other DPS classes in raids. Here, too, we had a Worgen on the setup.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Shadow | 450 seconds | 842 | 213.089 |
| 873 (BIS) | 313.566 | |||
| Multi-Target | Shadow | 360 seconds | 842 | 244.238 |
| 873 (BIS) | 375.702 |
The Paladin

With the specialization “Retribution,” the noble Paladin can also hit opponents hard, but compared to other damage classes, the Holy Warrior unfortunately falls short. In Legion, Paladins are better suited for tanks or healers in raids. This Paladin was incidentally a dwarf.
| Specialization | Fight Duration | Item Level | DPS | |
| Single Target | Retribution | 450 seconds | 842 | 176.247 |
| 873 (BIS) | 257.027 | |||
| Multi-Target | Retribution | 360 seconds | 842 | 213.750 |
| 873 (BIS) | 296.877 |
