The military MMO World of Tanks is coming soon to Playstation 4. The announcement was preceded by a bit of a clumsy button press.
At the moment, a major software fair is taking place in Tokyo, where the developers are showcasing their games. Apparently, something went wrong during a presentation by Wargaming yesterday: A wrong button press made a homepage appear, which accidentally announced a Playstation 4 version.
There’s little to do with: “You saw nothing!” Had one needed a memory-erasing device. The news has begun its journey around the world.
Meanwhile, Wargaming has also officially confirmed the supposed coup: Yes, we are planning a Playstation 4 version.
The PS4 version is expected to be free to play, and there will be a remote function via PS Vita; Playstation Plus will not be required.
Wargaming promises a version of World of Tanks that is tailored to the PS4, with unique gameplay content, tanks, and maps.
It’s not particularly surprising: After PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and even mobile devices, it seems only logical that Playstation 4 is the next landing platform for the free-to-play giant. Moreover, it was clearly stated more than a year ago to launch on as many platforms as possible.
