A woman in the USA won a tournament in Mortal Kombat under special circumstances. Just five days earlier, she gave birth to a daughter who was in her mother’s arms throughout the tournament.
What kind of tournament was it? The woman won a small tournament held by Juicy Game Night in Orlando, Florida. Juicy Game Night (here on Twitch) hosts monthly tournaments in various fighting games, including Tekken, Street Fighter, and also Mortal Kombat.
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, such a tournament took place. The now 10-year-old Mortal Kombat X was played. A total of four people participated in this tournament – including a woman who competed with her newborn baby in her arms and was crowned the winner.

Who is this woman? According to her profile on X (formerly Twitter), where she goes by Legi0n, the woman is a 3D artist and a mother of two. She also occasionally plays fighting games, it states there.
However, the best moment of her week was probably not the tournament victory, but the birth of her daughter. The baby was born via cesarean section on September 22, just five days before the tournament (Source: Dexerto).
The fact that she and her husband, who also participated in the tournament, had their daughter with them that day was not planned. But even though the woman was still recovering from childbirth, she decided “last minute” to participate in the tournament.
Here’s how the tournament went: With a 3:2 victory, the woman made it to the final by defeating her husband 3:1. She was also able to win the subsequent Grand Final – all while holding her 5-day-old daughter in her arms.
Her victory eventually went viral on social media.

The prize for winning the tournament was $28 (around €24) and a trip to DreamHack in Atlanta.
