If you want to boost a character in World of Warcraft, you should not buy a character boost. There is currently an absurd situation.
In line with “Black Friday”, Blizzard has also reduced the price of WoW: Battle for Azeroth – currently at €35. This is of course good for everyone who has not yet purchased the new expansion. Many players are considering buying a second copy. This is because the expansion also includes a character boost to level 110, which would normally cost €60, making it almost twice as expensive.
Here’s how it works: If you want a “cheap” character boost for €35, simply purchase a digital copy of Battle for Azeroth in the Battle.net store. Ensure that the copy gets activated on your Battle.net account during registration. Now you have multiple licenses for World of Warcraft (meaning: multiple accounts), all running under the same Battle.net account. Since the character boost is valid account-wide, you can apply the boost from the new license to a character from the old license. Here is the offer for WoW:BfA in the Blizzard Shop.
Fans suspect marketing trick: Even though many are happy about the relatively inexpensive character boost of €35, many players suspect it is just a marketing trick. Since the new purchase of Battle for Azeroth is cheaper than a character boost, this will increase the number of copies sold of Battle for Azeroth. This will surely look good in Activision Blizzard’s next quarterly report.
By the way: With Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance, which is coming out next month, leveling will become significantly easier. The required experience points per level will be drastically reduced.
Are you using this “trick” to cheaply boost a character to 110? Or do you prefer to level your characters yourself and skip such boosts?
