With the latest update in Remnant: From the Ashes new armor bonuses were added, enabling fantastic synergies. With a special setup, it is now possible to take such little damage for a short period of time that you can survive even in the highest difficulty amidst a horde of enemies. We will show you what you need for the setup.
What exactly does this build do? Specifically, it is about boosting your damage resistance to such heights that even the toughest attacks cannot harm you. In fact, with the presented setup, under ideal conditions, you achieve a damage resistance of 75% while having absurd armor values.
That this setup works is proven by the following video, in which a player stands amidst a horde of enemies and loses almost no health. The video was notably recorded in Nightmare mode, the toughest difficulty of Remnant: From the Ashes.
You need to align your armor, traits and mods in such a way that you achieve the maximum possible damage resistance. The core of the build is the Void Armor and its new trait, which grants either bonuses to armor or damage based on incoming or outgoing damage.
The exact combination was found by Redditor Turbulencee, and it is aptly named the Immortal Build. We will explain what items you need for this setup and how to activate the “perfect” defense.
These items, traits, and mods are needed for the Immortal Build
These equipments you need to collect: You will probably need to collect a bit before you have gathered all parts. However, thanks to our list, you will at least know where to look. The adventure mode is suitable for most items:
- The Void Armor – Activate the Checkpoint Monolith on Rhom and complete the simple plate puzzle at the entrance. The solution to the riddle can be found on the back of the tower. Inside the tower, you can acquire the armor for 2,500 scrap.
- Mother’s Ring – Can be found randomly in an area on Earth. Increases damage resistance against ranged attacks by 20%.
- Guardian’s Ring – Can be purchased from the traveling merchant on Yaesha for 100,000 scrap. Increases damage resistance against melee attacks by 15%.
- Scythe of the Reaver – Give the Heart of the Beast to the Eternal King to receive the Scythe of the Reaver as a reward. This grants you lifesteal on melee hits.
- Mod Immunity of the Howler – Defeat the dog Maul on Rhom. This event is random. You may need to reset the world multiple times.
These traits you should level to maximum: The traits help you take less damage and allow the mods to be used more frequently.
- Blessing of the Mother – Received after the horde assault in the church on Earth. Grants up to 20% resistance against ranged attacks.
- Blessing of the Guardians – Defeat the Seed Horror on Yaesha, which later hangs around at the merchant after you encounter it for the first time. Increases resistance to melee attacks by up to 20%.
- Thick Hide – Speak with the Wailing Tree on Earth when you are wearing the Mask of Rot. You obtain this mask randomly in two ways at certain events on Earth. Once in the horde event at the gallows, and another time with an underground merchant, who you have to ask about his mask. This trait increases your armor value.
- Recovery – Speak with Navun on Yaesha. Increases the effectiveness of healing items.
- Inspiration – Increases the mod build rate. Ex-Cultists have this trait from the start; all others must complete the supply event on Earth, which also rewards the assault rifle.
How do you extract the maximum defense power from the build? When you are hit while wearing the Void Armor, you gain a defensive stack. At three stacks, your armor increases by 30%. With Thick Hide, you already have 677.5 armor with the Void Armor. With the bonus, you will become the super tank.
By using the traits, rings, and mods, you also achieve 75% damage resistance. Combine this with a Golden Plum and a Blood Tincture, and you will take less damage than you can heal. Especially in Nightmare mode, you can thus survive tricky situations without harm.
Which amulet and weapons should I equip? Here you have the choice. Take what you like. Leto’s Amulet is recommended, as it allows you to dodge and roll faster despite the heavy armor. For weapons, the Destroyer is a good choice since you can be revived with the mod when it is charged.
What are the disadvantages of the build? It is very defensive. Especially in Nightmare mode, you also need to deal high damage to progress quickly. Invest in traits that increase your ranged damage, critical hit chance, and critical hit damage.
The build plays best in co-op mode. If you have a damage dealer with you, you can completely focus on drawing aggro and reviving your teammates. If that all seems too easy, you can trade a ring for the Admiral’s Ring.
