The MMORPG WildStar will soon launch on the Steam platform. At least the corresponding page of the game is already online. The release is getting closer.
Last Resort for WildStar: Steam?
After initial positive reviews and highly praised game systems, WildStar unfortunately could not meet the expectations of the developers and the player community. Very quickly, the game found itself in a downward spiral, which recently reached a sad low point with the layoff of numerous employees .
However, the remaining developers are not giving up, but continue to work hard and are adding new content to the game – just recently the latest patch “Off to Arkterra!” was released. Another glimmer of hope could come with the upcoming release of the game on Steam, as it would significantly increase the reach of the free-to-play game. In the meantime, the corresponding page on Steam is also available, forums and information are ready for use.
A binding date for the launch on Steam has not been revealed yet, but there is already a comprehensive FAQ that answers many important questions regarding the transition.
- Anyone who wants to play WildStar through Steam in the future is required to download the entire game again through the platform.
- Upon first logging in via Steam, you will be asked to provide the account details of your WildStar account to connect the two profiles. But beware! Only one WildStar account can be linked to Steam, and if you own multiple accounts, you have to decide.
- There will be no new servers – all players play on the same servers, regardless of whether they start WildStar via Steam or the normal desktop application.
