The latest patch of WildStar continues the story and improves the tutorials. In addition, there are new items available in the shop.
The Chamber of the Archon beckons story lovers
Tomorrow, on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, a new patch will be released for WildStar, which will be deployed to the live servers. The highlight of the update 1.5.1 is the “Chamber of the Archon,” the latest part of the story of WildStar. The players have been tasked by the Guardian to visit the Chamber of the Archon. There, the Archon of the Eldan, Jariel, has hidden important information about Nexus and the Eldan’s legacy.
In addition to the bitter cold (which can even lead to death), players will also have to face several puzzles here in order to be rewarded with knowledge (and of course loot) in the end.
New shop system and tutorials
Additionally, there are a few more minor changes. The shop now has a new section, the “Premium Station.” Items are offered exclusively for players with premium status, some of which are time-limited before they become available to all players in the regular shop.
Also new are extended tutorials that reveal what WildStar has to offer immediately after the Ark ship. This way, players get an early glimpse of housing, mounts, instances, and all the other types of content that can be experienced on Nexus.
Finally, a welcome and farewell screen has been introduced. Here, the latest activities in the game are displayed, such as special weekends (bonus XP, more prestige, etc.) or events like the Halloween event. The daily rewards for logging in and updates in the shop are also promoted here.
Mein-MMO says: Although the Premium Station sounds like a nice bonus for subscribers, it is nothing more than another hurdle to obtain items from the shop. While players can also achieve premium status as “free” players through CREDD, hiding shop items behind even more barriers does not sound like a good idea. The new tutorials and the purchasable option to jump directly to “desired” content, such as housing, sound quite promising – just in time before the game is available on Steam.
