There are some negative rumors about the SF-MMO WildStar , but now fans are receiving some rather bizarre good news. One of the main characters from WildStar has made it into the Korean “counterpart” to Heroes of the Storm.
In Korea, things operate differently, but not really that differently. The game “Master X Master” could be called the “Heroes of the Storm” of NCSoft. It is also a MOBA (if you take the term very broadly) and here too, there are no “original characters”, but NCSoft has selected some of the most popular creations from its own games, much like Blizzard has done here.
Recently, the Alpha patch introduced “Mondo Zax” into the mix. He is the psycho hamster and genius weapon smith from WildStar, whose solution for everything seems to be “eat it or blow it up.” This news could be interpreted very positively as an indication that NCSoft, as the publisher, believes in a future for WildStar. Recently, there could have been doubts about that, especially since personnel cuts have already been made. Moreover, this action would only make sense if, as planned, they really intend to bring WildStar to Asia.
With “Master X Master”, we in the West probably don’t have to worry too much. No one is currently talking about a West port, and the mix of MOBA with PvE elements and a “tag” system would probably struggle here. Especially since hardly anyone in the West would know the individual characters. On May 1, the game goes into an open beta – but only in Korea.
