In WildStar, players bid farewell to the faction barrier. Additionally, they are considering new race and class combinations.

Old hostilities sometimes must simply be buried. Otherwise, it is hard to explain why WildStar is now largely bidding farewell to the faction barrier that separates players of the Exiled and the Dominion.
In the official forum, it was announced that some restrictions on faction choice will soon be lifted.
- The faction barrier will be removed in the content finder. With an upcoming patch, players from both factions will be able to dive into adventures and instances together.
- The language barrier will also be completely gone. With the corresponding patch, it will be possible to chat and communicate without issues with players from the other faction.
- However, there will be no change in the open world: Here, Exiled and Dominion supporters will still be unable to form groups, join the same guilds, or visit each other’s homes. However, it is said that this is “for now” – presumably because such adjustments would require more effort.
Moreover, it seems that Carbine is obviously considering introducing new combinations of classes and races. In a new “DevConnect”, a forum post asking for community feedback, they ask players which class/race combinations they would like to see in the future. Who wouldn’t want to play a Granok rogue?
Mein-MMO thinks: At least the removal of the language barrier seems to be a logical step, as those who formed an “account friendship” with other players could already bypass this obstacle. However, in the other areas, this change fits into the dark picture that WildStar has been painting for months. The reason for merging groups from both factions is obviously the long wait times, as there are simply not enough players on both sides to consistently form a group for instances or adventures. Most players in the forum seem to be pleased about this.
