Wattson has just joined with the launch of Season 2 of Apex Legends . However, the cute new heroine has a big problem right now that makes players doubt whether she should even be played.
What problem does Wattson have? The problem is related to one of Wattson’s abilities, her tactical ability “Area Safety”. With this, Wattson can set up poles between which an electric fence is stretched.
This actually ensures that enemies crossing it are slowed down, take damage, and are even pinged. However, the opposite appears to be true when, instead of a player, an ability touches the fence, as Reddit user BshonAgain shows:
He sends a mirror image of his Mirage through the fence. Once the mirror image touches the wires, Wattson’s exact position and distance suddenly appears on the radar of her entire team.
With Mirage, it might work because his “Bamboozles” reveal the position of an opponent when they shoot at the mirror image. Since the fence deals damage, that could be the reason why Wattson gets exposed. Players report that he can also reveal Caustic and other legends in a similar way.
Should I stay away from Wattson?
You should consider: It would definitely be safer to choose another legend. However, you don’t have to stop playing Wattson, even if some players suggest that. Just keep in mind that you might get exposed.
