Those who want to buy the mighty Caravan Brontosaurus in World of Warcraft should act quickly. The auction house mount will vanish from the merchants’ portfolio with Shadowlands and will only be available at a higher price and less frequently.
That’s why the mount is currently a “bargain”: The Caravan Brontosaurus will not be purchasable from the merchants The crafty Nick and Talutu anymore with the upcoming WoW expansion Shadowlands.
Instead, the reins of the mount will be added to the pool of possible items in the black market auction house. The Brontosaurus will only be available there. This was confirmed by Community Manager Kaivax in the forum. Ownership will also become an achievement.
Currently, the mighty Caravan Brontosaurus costs 5 million gold pieces. Items on the black market, however, typically go for much more gold. Additionally, they are not always available – so you have to be lucky.
Those who have 5 million easily make a bargain with the dino at the moment. In the future, it will certainly be more expensive.

What makes the mount so special? The Caravan Brontosaurus is the first and only mount that allows players to have an auction house with them. One of the two NPCs sitting on the Brontosaurus grants access to auctions.

However, the dino also serves as a “gold sink,” meaning it takes gold out of the game. WoW has previously introduced mounts for this purpose, such as the immensely expensive spider.
