In Destiny 2, Season 6 really kicks off next week.
That’s why Season 6 is only just starting: Since March 5, the Season of the Drifter has been running. Numerous Guardians have already jumped into the new activities Gambit Prime and Reckoning to see what the season has to offer.
However, you still don’t see a large part of the new content in the game. In fact, the Reckoning mode really gets going only next week.
Several quests and bounties will also only be available then. Season 6 will only reveal what it has to offer.
Mark these dates for next week
This all starts next week:
- On March 12 (Tuesday), a new map for Gambit Prime will be released
- On March 12, two quest lines will begin, including the Thorn quest
- On March 15 (Friday), Reckoning will get really tough – Level 3 will be unlocked
- On March 15, you will receive an invitation from the Nine from Xur
Reckoning Level 3 as intense endgame content
This is how Reckoning changes: Reckoning is a fast-paced PvE mode where you need to kill many enemies as quickly as possible while keeping an eye on the time. Currently, you can only play Level 1, which always takes place in the same arena.
This is how Level 2 will be: Starting today, March 8, Level 2 begins. From now on, the challenges and rewards in Reckoning are said to rise significantly, according to Bungie. Level 2 delivers increased difficulty, additional objectives, more areas, and a new boss that you must face.
This is how Level 3 will be: On March 15, it will really kick off. Level 3 of Reckoning begins then. This is considered endgame content with a required power level of 680.
Level 3 should be a worthy challenge for all Guardians approaching the new max power level of 700. You can expect enemies at power level 690, so equip your best gear.
Bungie recommends forming a fireteam in advance for better coordination. However, there is also matchmaking like in the lower levels.
From trailers, we know that in Reckoning, such jump passes will come…
… and that there will be such pretty bosses:
You probably won’t be able to earn the best Gambit Prime gear to unlock all perks on the armor pieces until next Friday in Reckoning Level 3.
More information about the content next week
This is what Bungie says about the Thorn quest: The Thorn quest starts on March 12. You need to follow a clue at a mysterious location in the EDZ. Find the location to start the search for Thorn. Bungie refers to the search as a “journey” – the quest is expected to be extensive.
From press materials, we know that in Season 6, a character named “The Shadow” will appear, who wields the Thorn and is associated with the Drifter:

This is what Bungie says about the Gambit map: The new Gambit Prime map will be released on March 12 and is called “Overboard” – in English “Deep Six”. It is located on Titan. You can get a short glimpse in this video:
What we know about the invitations from the Nine: On March 15, Xur will simultaneously bring you an invitation from the Nine with the launch of Reckoning Level 3. This invitation leads to a bounty called “Into the Unknown,” where you can complete various tasks to learn more about the background of the Nine and earn powerful rewards.
Xur will bring an invitation every Friday for nine weeks. This can be completed once per character.
Note: All of this content is season pass exclusive. When you check the Season 6 content in the game in the top right corner of the navigator, the Thorn quest will also be displayed as season pass exclusive.
So Season 6 still has a lot to offer. The meaty content will only come next week. And in the following weeks, events and further content releases are scheduled:
