A player who has apparently been a fan of World of Warcraft for a very long time has done some cleaning and found his old installation CDs. They are almost 20 years old and have almost no use today. But from the right angle, they reveal a special image
What is this secret? A user on Reddit posted the 4 CDs from the original World of Warcraft, or “Vanilla”, on Reddit. Vanilla is the “first” WoW and was released in November 2004. The CDs are even a bit older since they had to be pressed beforehand.
If the CDs are held so that the holes overlap in the center, the prints create a rune-etched ring: a Titan disc. This extends across all 4 CDs. The user – and many others – just noticed this now.
“But I have 5 CDs!” This hidden message is only visible on the original Collector’s Edition of World of Warcraft, not on the Standard Edition. If you simply bought WoW back then, you probably own 5 CDs, each with different prints.
This sparked a discussion in the corresponding Reddit thread. The owner of the Collector’s CDs stated that he had thrown away the original packaging, causing outrage. A Collector’s Edition of Vanilla WoW is now a valuable rarity.
As a small comparison, another user explains that the current expansion Dragonflight would require a proud 141 CDs. You can clearly see the development. Call of Duty from 2020 even requires more than double the number of CDs.

In one of the comments, a user mocks the story of Shadowlands, which is generally considered poor. He mentions that the CDs clearly show the jailer’s plan and the holes in the center symbolize the holes in the story.
No one knows exactly what the runes mean. However, they are probably not a truly important message, as the runes repeat on each CD. They do differ from those seen on the Standard Edition.
