Black Desert calls on all players to participate in the “Mysteries of Summer” event. Players are to complete certain tasks in the world of Black Desert. As a reward, there is an Alienware Area-51 R5 computer among other prizes. The event is inspired by the Easter egg hunt from Ready Player One.
If you want to win, you need to be quick
There can be only one. Per region, only one player has the chance to win the grand prize in Black Desert. The “Mysteries of Summer” event starts on June 28, 2018, at 11 AM our time. During the event, players will be tasked with completing various challenges. The top 6 players will receive a reward.
This is what you can win:
- 1st Place: An Alienware Area-51 R5. One PC will be awarded per region.
- 2nd and 3rd Place: A 34-inch Ultrawide Monitor. Two winners per region.
- 4th to 6th Place: Each will receive a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. Three winners per region.
Secrets of the Sea. The new update will consist of five parts that thematically deal with the sea.

Inspired by Ready Player One: The event is inspired by “Ready Player One”. Here, people search for treasure in a “virtual world” to then enjoy eternal bliss in the real world.
Atmospheric trailer builds hype for the event
The search for treasure. In line with the announcement of the event, Kakao Games released a trailer that sets the tone for the upcoming adventures. A new location, a mysterious map, and a strange box are shown.
Perhaps players will go on a treasure hunt during the event. After all, there are many caves in Black Desert where something could be well hidden.
Will Black Desert perhaps get loot boxes? Fans on Reddit are already joking that Pearl Abyss will finally introduce loot boxes into the game with the big summer update.
