The Cow Level is the secret project of the fans in Diablo 4. A level full of cows with weapons waiting to face you, but to find this you have to follow cryptic clues. With Vessel of Hatred, there are now new hints, but they are tied to the DLC and require a lot of brainpower from you.
What has been discovered now? New hints regarding the Cow Level. With Vessel of Hatred, Blizzard has implemented further mechanics and items into the world of Sanctuary that players must interact with to get closer to the Cow Level.
The Cow Level has not yet been found, instead players had to participate again in a scavenger hunt, solve puzzles, and find items to gain access to a secret room – in that room there were cows. According to YouTuber Slaydra, the steps were so complicated that no ordinary player could follow them.

Why are the steps so complicated? Because the steps and their hints seem disjointed. To get one step closer to the Cow Level this time, players must first find three scrolls at three different locations in Nahantu. The DLC is mandatory; without it you cannot visit the locations. Then you go southwest from the Kurast Docks to a decaying temple with three statues. You must now thank these statues. After your thanks, a jewel will be dropped. Further relics follow that you must collect.
Next, you continue to fight the “Elite Blood Lightning”. However, you cannot just defeat him. You must reset your skills to 1 and send your companion home. Then, you must defeat the opponent with your weak starting attack to get the next artifact.
The next step requires you to visit 12 different bird statues that you must find in a specific order. After the search, you will receive a bell.
Finally, you must find three of the “Cordycepic Zombies” north of Ichorfall, bring them together, and kill them together to spawn black mushrooms. In these, you must now place your three relics to curse them. You then bring them to the Oka’bo Temple and place them there. After that, you will receive a key that allows you to open the basement of Forlorn Burrow. There awaits a reward for you – and cows.
What happens next? No one knows yet. Even these steps were complex and not easy for everyone to follow. Perhaps Blizzard has hidden additional hints in Nahantu that must still be found by the community. Until then, players must content themselves with their reward from the Cow Basement.
