Which agents from Navy CIS were present the longest in the 489 episodes?

Rank 2: Leroy Jethro Gibbs

Unfortunately, only Rank 2 for the charismatic ex-Marine and long-term NCIS team lead Leroy Jethro Gibbs. With his 420 of 489 episodes, he has at least spent the second longest time on camera for the series.

Gibbs has been the team leader from the beginning and is also the main character of Navy CIS. Before joining the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, he was a sniper in the US Marines. While deployed abroad, his daughter and wife were murdered at home.

In the course of the investigation, he comes into contact with Michael Franks, who is to find his family’s murderer. Through him, Gibbs later joins the Navy CIS and leads his investigative team from Episode 1 of the series alongside Timothy Tim McGee, Anthony Tony DiNozzo, and Caitlin Kate Todd.

Early in Season 19, actor Mark Harmon left the series. Accordingly, his character Gibbs was also written out. According to Screenrant, Harmon wanted to pursue other projects after Season 18, but secure the continuation of the series with Season 19. Thus, he appears in a few of the episodes but then disappears while evading the FBI.
