In Where Winds Meet you can get rid of items in various ways. How exactly this works and what you need to know can be found here.
How does trading work in Where Winds Meet? There is currently no proper trading function in the global version of Where Winds Meet.
In the Chinese version, for example, you can trade skins, outfits, and certain items with other players, buying and selling them. Additionally, there are professions that allow you to earn money by buying and selling goods. Whether and when this feature will come to the West is currently unknown.
There is also currently no way to sell equipment or other items directly to other players. However, there are various ways to exchange special items with other players or to empty your inventory without going empty-handed. What options you currently have can be found here.
Exchange items with other players
What can currently be exchanged with other players? In Where Winds Meet, there are some collectible items, such as bowls, for which you receive rewards when you collect the entire set. From these collectibles, you can also collect multiple copies, allowing you to trade missing or excess items with other players.
To do this, you must follow these steps:
- Switch to online mode if you are still in single-player mode
- Alternatively, invite the respective player to the Co-op or switch to the player’s world if you already know who you want to trade with
- Meet the player you want to trade with
- Press the button that appears above the player’s head and scroll down
- Select the button “Exchange Collection” (German: Sammlung tauschen)
- Wait for the other player to accept your invitation
- Then select the item you want to give to the other player
- Wait for your opponent to do the same and then confirm the exchange
Other items cannot be exchanged at this time.
Can items also be gifted? Yes, there are also items that you can gift – either through chat or in person. You can find this gifting function when you meet the players, right next to the trading function. Alternatively, you can also select the items themselves and gift them from there, provided it’s possible through chat. You can also gift some items from the shop to other players.
Get rid of items from your inventory
How can equipment and items be sold? If your inventory space is running low, you cannot currently sell excess equipment to a merchant. Instead, you can mark the respective item in your bag and recycle it with the corresponding button. This consumes it and gives you money and some resources.
You don’t need to worry about resources and quest items, as they do not take up inventory space. The limitation mainly affects your weapons and armor pieces.
Money and currencies play a central role in Where Winds Meet. Currently, monetization is relatively fair compared to other free-to-play games and leaves no room for pay-to-win. However, it is said that the whole thing will be even fairer in the Chinese version: Where Winds Meet Shop and Monetization: No Pay2Win, but the Chinese version is expected to be fairer
