MeinMMO presents a strong build for PvP in Where Winds Meet and reveals which weapons and martial arts skills you should use.
We have already presented a beginner build for Where Winds Meet, with which you can perform well in all challenges of the open-world RPG. However, those who want to compete in PvP against other players are often not satisfied with a “good build for every situation”. It needs to be a build that is specifically tailored for those situations.
In PvP, factors such as crowd control, burst damage, mobility, and defense are significantly more important than in battles against most NPC enemies. Therefore, we now recommend a build (a combination of weapons, skills, and equipment) that is specifically designed for PvP and can help newcomers achieve quick success.
The Best Weapons for PvP
Currently, there are 4 strong weapon combinations that are very hard to beat in the PvP of Where Winds Meet:
- Nameless Sword + Nameless Spear: Offers burst, control, mobility, and flexibility – the current meta king
- Demonic Twin Blades + Death Rope Arrow: Provides the most attacks per minute, mobility and control, but is harder to master than Option 1
- Strategic Sword + Demonic Twin Blades: Can catch opponents in a very long combo
- Inkpot Fan + Spring Shield: The best ranged option, strong in 3vs3 and in the open world
Since this guide is also aimed at players who want to test PvP in Where Winds Meet for the first time, we focus here on the combination of Nameless Sword and Nameless Spear. You have this variant from the start; it is relatively easy to play and still performs well in battles against other players.
Here are the strengths of this weapon combination:
- Strong burst potential
- High mobility and control
- Spear provides more range when needed
- Suitable for beginners
- Strong choice for 1vs1 duels and team fights
And the weaknesses:
- Weak damage if opponents manage to kite you with high mobility.
- Your windows with high burst damage are quite predictable for veterans.
- Anyone who mindlessly spams their skills will quickly run out of stamina.
Inner Arts and Mystic Arts
Your playstyle or the abilities of your weapons can be refined with the passive upgrades of the inner arts, of which you can unlock many over the course of your adventure and activate up to four.
We recommend the following 4 Inner Arts for the PvP fight with the Nameless Sword and Nameless Spear:
- Sword Transformation for additional sword attacks with the Nameless Sword
- Wild Sparks regains a portion of stamina every time you consume stamina
- Power of the Mountain increases the stamina cost reduction of your spear skill Qiankuns Fessel to 20 percent for 5 seconds
- Chant of Morality increases damage dealt and HP regeneration after attacks or heals
What about the mythical arts? These are active martial arts skills, of which you can carry up to 8.
However, since only a maximum of 4 can be placed on the easiest to reach shortcut selection, we recommend placing skills there that can noticeably ease fights for you. Especially since you often have only a brief moment in which to activate the respective skill.

The following 4 mythical arts have proven themselves in PvP battles according to our experience
- Ghostly Steps reduces the stamina cost of your ground evasion abilities by 40 percent and extends the duration of invincibility – a must! Here you can learn how to earn Ghostly Steps
- Yaksha Storm allows you to close distance to the opponent (mobility), break through their defense, and launch them into the air (control). Breaking through the defense causes huge damage (burst)
- Dragon Breath deals damage, applies ignition to your opponents, and grants you a 15 percent damage reduction and tenacity
- Floating Whirl allows you to rush through the opponent, followed by a devastating attack that reduces all healing done by your enemy
Claw Attack can be an alternative to Yaksha Storm if you do not need the charge and instead want to perform a 3-hit combo. Since the skills that break defenses share a cooldown, unfortunately, it does not make sense to include both arts.
The Best Attributes, The Best Equipment
Focus on attributes that increase your damage (Physical Attack, Critical Hit Chance, Critical Damage Bonus, Physical Penetration) or improve your stamina regeneration. Control resistance and increased movement speed are also helpful.
The Falcon Wing set for weapons, disc, and pendant provides you with an increased affinity rate (not so important) and a stackable buff for your physical attack (important). For armor, there are several comparable options:
- Can you perfectly evade attacks? Take the Still Water set, which rewards you with healing and stamina upon perfect evasion.
- Do you prefer to block attacks? Choose the Quick Steps set, which increases your maximum health and reduces damage after successful block maneuvers.
- If both options feel too risky, try the Moon Flicker set, which grants you a protective shield when attacked while defending.
Playstyle / Combo
Start with the spear to look for an opportunity to immobilize your opponent with Qiankuns Fessel. Then switch to your sword and unleash high burst damage. Use the charged attack Vagabond’s Sword from the Nameless Sword to trigger additional sword energy attacks via Sword Transformation.
Follow up with Dragon Breath if needed. Use Floating Whirl and Yaksha Storm to keep up pressure on retreating and defending opponents. Switch back to the spear to prepare for the next burst phase.
