What happened today in Fortnite? The live event in Fortnite concluded the end of Chapter 2 with a twist of the map. The Cube Queen has retreated, leaving us with a new map and a zero-point screen. Now many players are wondering when it will start again with the battle royale shooter.

Fortnite cannot be played – when and for how long?
When and how long will the downtime last? Many players are not in agreement, but a leaker suggests that on December 5 at 4 PM, you will be able to take your first steps on the new map. However, keep in mind that this has not yet been officially confirmed.
When will the patch notes be released? Normally, Epic Games publishes little to no information about the update changes in the battle royale mode. These are often discovered by the community itself.

What new content does update 19.00 bring?
What’s new for the battle royale mode? We are not yet entirely sure about the changes, but leaks and data miners have proven to be reliable sources in the past. Here’s what you might expect with these changes:
New map
The Cube Queen has effortlessly rotated the entire old map by 180°. This has resulted in a new battlefield location. This new island will most likely be the new map of Fortnite for Chapter 3.
Sliding mechanics
Hypex, a well-known leaker from Fortnite, has stated that soon you will have the ability to slide around with your skin. In the Polish Fortnite trailer from Epic Games, there was a scene showing a skin executing exactly such a movement.
Apparently, Chapter 3 will bring a new way of movement.
New weapons and items
Additionally, new weapons and items have also been discovered in the trailer such as:
- New assault rifle
- New SMG
- A mythical crown
- Foldable bags with shield sprayers and tents for weapon upgrades
Environmental disasters – Tornados, lightning, and thunderstorms
Among other things, the realistic implementation of natural disasters such as tornadoes and thunderstorms impressed in the trailer. These could appear randomly during combat.
Unreal Engine 5
Hypex has previously mentioned that the battle royale shooter is getting a new engine. The video leak from the Polish Epic Games site showed that trees are being meticulously chopped down and especially felled.
As they fall after chopped notches, just like in real life. It is possible that this feature is linked to the new engine.
