Many of you are very excited about the new MMORPG Lost Ark. But as always with a new MMORPG, the question arises as to which classes are best suited for the start of the game. We at MeinMMO have summarized the 5 best classes for beginners.

Finding the right class: On February 11, Lost Ark launched in Germany. Since that day, you can enjoy the Free2Play MMORPG for free. Currently, 15 classes are waiting for you, which can feel overwhelming quickly.

We at MeinMMO have summarized 5 classes that are perfect for beginners and that newcomers to the action MMORPG should look at.

These five classes are:

  • The Berserker
  • The Warlancer
  • The Artillerist
  • The Shadowhunter
  • The Scrapper

How do classes and groups work in Lost Ark? Currently, there are 15 different classes in Europe. You select one of 5 base classes at the start, and at level 10, you can choose a subclass.

Regarding group dynamics, the game deviates slightly from the known MMORPG pattern. In Lost Ark, it currently works like this: you fill the 4-player group with a support character, namely a Paladin or a Bard, and three damage classes.

Some raids in Lost Ark are played with 8 players, meaning two groups. However, the dynamics do not change because of this. In the raid, you are thus playing with 6 pure damage dealers and 2 players who also provide support.

Update: We last updated the article on February 25, 2022. We had to remove the Summoner from our list as they are not available at launch in our version. Instead, we added and described the Shadowhunter in more detail. We also added links and changed some wording.

How do we rate the best classes for beginners? The best classes for newcomers and for diving into the game are rated based on the following criteria:

  • How important is knowledge about the opponents you fight?
  • Can the class forgive many mistakes?
  • Does the class manage to score in the endgame?
  • Is the basic mechanics of the class easy to understand?
  • Can you survive critical situations with the class?

With these critiques, we have looked at all the classes currently available in the European version and summarized them for you.
