These MMORPGs are set to be released in 2023: A new year has begun, which also means new releases on the MMORPG horizon. After 2022 saw a whole bunch of online games die, it is time for fresh titles again.
While many MMORPGs currently in development do not yet have a release date, a handful of them have been set for 2023 as the release year. These include:
- Throne and Liberty – Originally known as Project TL, the game was fundamentally revised in 2017 and is now expected to be released in the first half of 2023.
- Fractured – The sandbox game is set to become a classic MMORPG, like one of the forefathers of the genre, Ultima Online.
- Mad World: Age of Darkness – The dark MMORPG will be played from an isometric perspective and targets fans of complex gameplay, like in Path of Exile.
- War of Dragnorox – The game is aimed at fans of old-school MMORPGs who enjoy sandbox action and focuses on PvE.
- Chainmonsters – If you have always wanted a Pokémon MMORPG, you should keep an eye on this game.
- Blue Protocol – The theme park MMORPG has now also been announced for the West and places a strong emphasis on story and PvE.
- Odin: Valhalla Rising – The game’s setting is rooted in Norse mythology, and you will encounter well-known gods like Thor or Freya as NPCs.
Of course, there is no guarantee that the mentioned games will actually be released in 2023. Delays are not uncommon in the gaming industry. However, we want to remain optimistic and initially assume that the release targets will be met.
