The action RPG Path of Exile is for many now the better “Diablo 3”, but the release on PS4 is still pending. The release date was already announced for December 2018. What is the current situation?
When is Path of Exile coming to PS4? This is still not clear. The latest announcement stated a release in “March 2019.”
However, a fixed release date is still missing.
Currently, the Twitter account of Path of Exile writes on March 9 about the release of Synthesis:
“Friends on PS4, we are getting closer every day to being able to give you a fixed release date. Stay tuned!”
This is the story so far: By the end of 2018, there were clear indications that Path of Exile would come to PS4. A Taiwanese rating site had leaked the information.
In November 2018, Grinding Gear Games officially announced that they would really bring their action RPG Path of Exile to PS4. The release date was set for December 7, 2018.
But then nothing came of it. It was said that they had underestimated the workload required for the elaborate certification process. On top of that, there was the annoying Christmas season.
Actually, they had set January 2019 as an alternative date, but even the release date for PS4 was then postponed – originally, it was thought to be in February 2019.
The chaos around the release date was perfect when nothing happened in February.
On the English page of Playstation.com, it even still states that Path of Exile is already out.

Is it still coming in March on PS4? The fact that there is still no fixed release date is not a very good sign:
- Maybe it will be postponed again.
- As soon as there is a fixed release date, it could go quickly. Apparently, the game has actually been finished for months and something is still blocking it.
