The MMORPG Rift seems to be getting new features and events soon. Fresh information has been found in the code. These suggest companions, PvP brawls, and remakes.
Dataminers have been investigating the test server for RIFT and have discovered hints of new and some old content in the game. It looks like a kind of companion system will be coming soon and that old events will return.
“Planar Disciples” and Tempest Rising are coming
Is a companion system coming? The title of the new feature will be “Planar Disciples” and it is integrated into the character sheet.
The dataminers assume it will be a system where companions can be summoned. Additionally, the Tempest Rising event, a new dimension, and a new PvP event have been discovered.
Companions are coming – maybe: So far, the display for the Planar Disciples in the found data is still empty. It is merely a labeled menu option in the character interface. However, the designation suggests companions.
Players are quite sure in the official forum that it will be some kind of pet feature, allowing players to summon companions for combat. The found files suggest that the companions can reach six different levels. It is therefore possible that they can be leveled up. Possible test disciples are:
- Bahmi the Derpette
- Falls Off Cliffs
- Elfy the Elf
- Ryan The Designer Not Engineer
- Female Dwarf Justicar
Brawl in the Black Garden: Another piece of content found indicates a PvP event. The mode is called “Brawl” and is intended for the Black Garden. The rules for the battlefield seem unchanged, but there is a text for the event:
“Brawl brings everyone from level 10-50 onto the same map. How? All equipment is enhanced – low-level players receive a massive boost to their combat power. Just remember to equip all slots, as only equipped slots will be enhanced. GOOD LUCK!” (freely translated from English.)
Tempest Rising returns: The “Tempest Rising” event has been spotted on the Alpha (Live) PTS. Tempest Rising was the opening event for the “Storm Legion” expansion.
It is possible that the event related to the opening of Storm Legion will return on the Prime servers – whether it will also reach the live servers is still unknown.
Box of Pandora: Finally, information about a new dimension called Pandora’s Box has surfaced. Where or what exactly this dimension is, is still unknown; only the name has come up.
