Since Friday, the open beta of the new shooter Battlefield 2042. What have your impressions of the game been so far? Let us know in the survey.
This is Battlefield 2042: 3 years after the release of Battlefield V, fans of the series are getting a new shooter set in the near future. In 2042, the world is falling apart. The climate crisis leads to rising sea levels and global shortages of food and fuel.
The EU is dissolving and the last two remaining superpowers, the USA and Russia, send elite task forces into a battle for resources against each other.
You take on the role of a soldier who is part of such a task force and fights in various locations around the world against your opponents in the “All-Out-Warfare” modes: Conquest and Breakthrough.
Additionally, there will be the community-driven mode Battlefield Portal. There, you will have access to maps and content from Battlefield classics like Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3. There is also the “Hazard Zone” mode, about which there is currently very little official information.
After the release, Battlefield 2042 will continuously receive new content. This includes a season pass and several battle passes that bring new maps, specialists, and weapons.
Before the release, players will first be able to test the gameplay of the new shooter thoroughly in a beta. Initially, only pre-order customers were allowed to participate, but from October 8th, the beta will be open to everyone.
