Fans of Warhammer are excited about the announcement of a new series in their favorite universe. The trailer meets expectations and makes one eager for more brutal action.
Which series is being discussed? It is about Astartes II, a new animated series in the Warhammer universe. It is the successor to the short film of the same name that was released in 2018. However, it was not an official film but a fan project by Syama Pedersen.
At that time, it not only convinced numerous fans but also Games Workshop itself. Pedersen was hired and recently worked on projects like the Warhammer episode of Secret Level.
Additionally, he received a special honor: His fan film Astartes was included in the official canon of Warhammer.

What does the trailer show? It’s just a first glimpse, lasting about 80 seconds, that we get of the new series. But it tells a lot. Specifically, the new characters are introduced. These are five Marines.
The trailer cuts between them and their helmets with symbols as well as action-packed scenes. The animations look buttery smooth and show Marines that appear wonderfully heavy and substantial, yet also nimble as they soar through the air.
When the phrase “Don’t let the aliens live” is displayed at the end, there is no doubt left based on what has been shown: Astartes II continues the path of the predecessor project consistently and is likely to raise the stakes. After all, we are dealing with an official series that probably has a much larger budget than a fan project.
