Mein-MMO.de was founded in September 2013 and is now the largest website for online gaming in Germany. We reach between 150,000 and 250,000 readers every day.
Our site follows multiplayer online games that are continuously developed over a long period. We take the approach of accompanying games in depth, becoming experts in individual games, and staying close to the community.
Mein-MMO.de should become even better and bigger. You can be a part of it: as a full-time online editor working from home or in our office in Munich.
Your Tasks
- You independently write opinion pieces, reviews, guides, news, and features on online games from the games-as-a-service sector
- You will learn to upload these articles into our content management system WordPress and make them web-compliant
- You assist with daily and weekly organization in the editorial department. You ensure that the site always has a good mix of topics and develop master plans with the team to become and stay number one in our subjects
- You create plans with the team and implement them. You take responsibility. You prepare the team and yourself as well as possible for releases or events
- You help Mein-MMO to further develop in the editorial area, refine the profile, contribute ideas, and promote the implementation
- You analyze contributions and topics with our tools, develop article ideas and strategies from them
- You support freelance authors and colleagues in writing the best possible content for the readers
- You work closely with the community, activate them, talk to them, involve them, and write for them
- You research, interview experts or developers, incorporate this knowledge into your work to write high-quality articles

What We Expect
- We are looking for an editor with a strong commitment to the profession and passion for online gaming. A good writing style and willingness to continue fine-tuning it are prerequisites
- We expect you to have already gained experience in gaming journalism. It is a great advantage if you have already managed your own blog or written for a gaming magazine
- Leadership and management skills: You are responsible for the optimal implementation of specific areas on the site, support or lead employees, give regular feedback, and motivate the team
- You are a digital native: You know the common channels and understand the target audience
- You have a broad knowledge in the MMO area: You understand the core and peculiarities of MMORPGs or online shooters
- Good English skills and excellent spelling in German are also important
- You gain experience with our social media channels and analysis tools. Advantageous: You are familiar with Google tools and SEO
- You apply your acquired journalistic techniques with us and expand them further
- Analytical thinking is required: You write content that interests the community and learn to identify and assess these topics. The readers come first!
