Survival is currently in trend and so are MMOs – therefore, more and more developers are trying to combine the two, as what worked in ARK: Survival Evolved could also work for the MMO Rokh. We ask ourselves: What is Rokh?
Rokh is a survival sandbox MMORPG that takes you to the inhospitable planet Mars. There are no predetermined missions or quests. You determine your story. Survival is the top priority, and this very struggle for everything that secures your survival is meant to make the appeal of the game and lead to exciting adventures. However, you will not be able to survive alone. You need to team up with other players.
New on Mars
You embody a newcomer on Mars, who sets out in their spacesuit to find water, food, air, or protection from radiation. Because at some point the life support system in your suit will fail, and by then you should have found enough resources to survive. Together with friends, you build a base that serves as a starting point for your expeditions. You craft useful items like tools and weapons and trade with other players. The game world is about 400 km² large and is full of dangers. The Unreal Engine 4 is used to provide a realistic landscape.
What about PvP?
There has been no discussion about PvP yet, but it is mentioned that one should always be cautious, as you never know whether another player is a friend or an enemy. This certainly sounds a lot like an open PvP system. Hopefully, the developers will provide more precise information about this.
The MMORPG Rokh is to be funded through a Kickstarter campaign. Until June 5, the developers want to raise at least 100,000 Euros. Anyone interested in the game concept, can participate in the crowdfunding.
