We introduce the multiplayer melee game For Honor.

This is how For Honor is presented at least on the official game website. It is currently still in development at Ubisoft Montreal and is among the top games from Ubisoft, which is eagerly awaited at the upcoming E3 2016.

In For Honor, you will experience brutal melee battles firsthand: With a sword in hand, you will plunge into chaos with your friends as wild Vikings, deadly knights, or cold-blooded samurai, leaving a trail of raw violence. The following reveal trailer gives you an impression of the game:
For Honor is set to feature an innovative combat system that allows you to feel the power of each strike, the force of each hit, and the weight of your weapon in your hands.
These are the factions in For Honor
So far, three factions in For Honor are known, from which you can choose your hero:
The Legions (Knights)
This faction fights for the defense and protection of their homeland. They resist two invaders, namely the other two factions. They aim to conquer the lands of “The Legions”.
Your combat unit is “The Guardian”, a large and powerful warrior dedicated to the defense of his land and his people. He is well-protected with his plate and chain armor. In addition, he wields a massive two-handed sword, with which he can strike down foes and parry attacks.
The Warborn (Vikings)
The warriors of the “Warborn” come across the sea to raid the southern coasts. They are known for their fire and passion and embody all the virtues of a warrior. They seek to drive their enemies out of their ancestral lands.
Here, you play the hero “The Plunderer”, a heavy, brutal, and battle-hardened unit. He wields a Viking round shield, which serves both as a weapon and protection. Additionally, he carries a sharp sword, which can cut through flesh and armor with ease.
The Chosen (Samurai)
This faction has survived thousands of years wandering through the deserts of the south and now seeks to conquer a new home. Only through the skill and dedication of their heroes have they made it this far.
“The Oni” is a deadly warrior who enters battles with speed and skill. He wields a classic Japanese katana and is clad in light armor. The Oni is the “incarnation of death” on the battlefield. The following video provides a closer look at this hero of the samurai:
The multiplayer in For Honor
So far, little is known about the multiplayer of For Honor. Gameplay material was shown at last year’s E3 – more information is scarce:
This video presents a 4v4 battle in Dominion mode: Two teams aim to capture the battlefield by gaining control of three strategic zones.
If you have to prove yourself in a duel, a control scheme opens up to allow you to precisely and in real-time control your character. This is referred to by Ubisoft as “Art of Battle.” With the right stick, you can position your weapon and choose the side for an attack or a parry.
For Honor still does not have a fixed release date, only the note “Coming Soon.” The game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
