Exile Online places you in the world of Erebus, ruled by megacorporations. The scenario is comparable to those of the movies Blade Runner, Judge Dredd, or Total Recall, as well as the game Deus Ex or the comic Akira. Additionally, there are aliens that also inhabit the world and intelligent machines.
Free Hero Development
You create a hero based on eleven skill categories, each further divided into ten so-called tiers. This allows you to freely determine how your hero should develop. It is said that over time, you will be able to learn and master every skill. With your hero, you set out to explore the vast, dystopian world. Along the way, you will encounter many factions that you can join and for which you can complete missions.
However, since Exile Online is a sandbox, you will have the freedom to choose your path in the dark world. You may acquire a house and decorate it according to your wishes, you can craft and sell items, or you can venture into the world in search of monsters to defeat. It will be possible for your actions to shape the world. Battles (both in PvE and PvP) are indeed an important pillar of the game, but no one will be forced to participate in skirmishes. You can also live your virtual life as a trader or crafter and even lead a megacorporation if you get that far.
The Cyberspace Awaits
The cyberpunk scenario of the MMORPG is calling for a cyberspace. You will be able to visit it in Exile Online. In the Cybernet, you embody a different avatar and can act in a virtual world. Your actions will then even affect the real world.
