The co-op shooter Warhammer 40,000 Darktide offers many contents for fans of the dark and brutal universe. Soon, Darktide will receive a new class that is even considered scum in the Underhives.
What is this new class? In Warhammer 40,000 Darktide, you must team up cooperatively in the Underhives to embark on missions to destroy the Chaos corruption. The lawless area in this first-person shooter is a comparably vile place even in the Warhammer universe, where really no one would want to have a job. There is toxic rain, no daylight, no air, and no food.
In line with this, a new DLC class for the game will be released on December 2, 2025. The Hive Scums represent the criminal scum of the Underhives: They are aggressive, wild fighters who rely on chemicals, and for the first time in the game, they will enable the use of weapons in both hands.

Multiple play styles are supposed to be possible
What is this class? The class is supposed to not only rely on an aggressive play style but also allow you multiple approaches. You should be able to play as a hyper-aggressive
fighter as well as from a distance with explosions and toxins. If you prefer a bulkier style, you should also be able to play the Hive Scums as a kind of bruiser. Several tools will be available to you:
- You should be able to use various toxins and chemicals against your opponents, but also as bonuses for yourself.
- The Hive Scums are the first class in Darktide that can use weapons with both hands. You can carry 2 pistols or knives and fight your way through enemies with them.
- Fans of Half-Life can look forward to using a crowbar as a melee weapon.
- Thanks to flashbangs and rocket launchers, you should also have good options for crowd control.
- Overall, the class seems to have many tools to take down large groups of enemies.
If you like to personalize your character, there should also be several tattoos, hairstyles, and face paint options.
With the Hive Scums, you are the visual representation of the Underhive: a ruthless and aggressive class that relies on all the tools you can find in this dreadful place.
