Today, on April 14th, “Operation Shadow Debt” starts for the consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Warframe. We summarize what you need to do and what you can win.
After a long wait for new content for console players of the online shooter Warframe, a new event starts today at 8 PM with the “Sands of Inaros” expansion. We provide you with an overview of what to do and what rewards you can receive.
Alad V – The Hunted
Operation Shadow Debt begins with a message from Alad V, the part-time ally of the Tenno. This time, he doesn’t want to kill you, but is in a bind himself. He is being hunted by followers of the Stalker, known as Acolytes, because he helped Lotus save the Tenno. Now he calls in his favor and needs your help to avoid falling victim to the assassins sent after him.
But as we all know, assassins usually act in secrecy, strike from a safe ambush, and are hard to catch. Therefore, it is essential to find the Acolytes first, as their locations are unknown at the start. You must infiltrate Corpus and Grineer facilities to steal security data, which will give Alad V the opportunity to find one of the 5 assassins. So be prepared to traverse the entire Warframe universe. It is advantageous to have unlocked as many planets as possible.
Acolytes, Beware!
Once this is accomplished, you can turn the tables and make the hunter the hunted. Once you have found your target at level, their emergence from the shadows will be announced by the characteristic flickering screen typical of the Stalker.
Then it is time to show the aspiring Stalker that they better not stand against the Tenno. If you deal enough damage to them, they will disappear and drop a mod in their hasty retreat.
With that, you have completed the first part of Operation Shadow Debt. However, progress continues only when all Acolytes have been killed. How long this takes depends on you, the Warframe players. The more often one of these enemies is found and repelled by the community, the less health they will have. For this reason, you should complete this part multiple times, as there are a total of 20 new mods to obtain, and you will also receive a seal, a badge, an Orokin Catalyst, and an Orokin Reactor as rewards.
The Final Challenger
Once all 5 Acolytes are looking at the grass from below, the second part of Operation Shadow Debt begins. A new, final opponent will appear for 3 days. If you defeat this person for the first time, you will be rewarded with the Vulkar Wraith, a semi-automatic sniper rifle which comes with a built-in Catalyst and weapon slot.
As with other events and tactical alerts before, the last mission where Alad V must be protected can be repeated an unlimited number of times. After every 5 successfully fended off enemy waves, the final challenger will appear to be sent to the eternal hunting grounds once again by the Tenno. It is said that there are people who enjoy pain…
If you withstand 15 waves, you will be rewarded with the Scorn skin for the melee weapon Lacera.
This time, however, there are also trophies to be earned for your clan, which you can then place decoratively in your dojo. The acquisition depends on the sum of the best wave of all participating clan members. You can find out the value you need to reach for your clan size from the following table.
But the most important rewards remain the mods, which can also be obtained in the last mission. Therefore, it is not tragic if you do not unlock one of the 20 new mods beforehand. But let’s take a closer look at them.
New Mods – New Possibilities
Unlike previous mods, which for example add extra damage to weapons, or simply increase various other stats, these are reactive mods that activate their effects during a specific action.
For instance, the fully upgraded rifle mod “Argon Scope” increases the critical hit chance while aiming by 135% for 9 seconds when landing a headshot. This ensures that every subsequent hit is a guaranteed critical.
Such a high chance can be achieved with some primary and secondary weapons even without the new mods, but not with melee weapons. This, however, changes now with “Sacrifice Count” and especially “Blood Rush.”
By significantly extending the duration of the combo counter with the former mod, the latter allows for effectively utilizing a value of up to 165% critical hit chance. Thus, even double (red) critical hits are possible with melee weapons.
Note: A simple critical hit is displayed in yellow. If you land another hit with the same projectile that achieved the simple critical hit, it is displayed in red. This also deals significantly more damage than the normal. Warframe calculates the chance over 100% as additional chance. Therefore, it is beneficial to further increase this value beyond 100%.
As you can see, there are several good things to win in this event. So get ready to hunt Alad V’s Acolytes to rob them of their loot.
