The action MMO Warframe (PC, PS4, Xbox One) is getting a bard among the cyber ninjas. The new Warframe is codenamed Bard Frame.
While other games regularly introduce new weapons, Warframe does have those, but also regularly debuts new “Warframes.” These are the bodies that players can inhabit – essentially, new heroes.
At Pax Australia in November, the team presented the “Bard Frame.” This is really something quite different.
In January, the innovative concept was further explored in a developer stream, the Dev Stream #82. A YouTuber summarized it in a widely noticed video.
The new Warframe does not have a name yet. Currently, it’s running under the working title “Bard Frame.” The special thing is: players will be able to compose the songs that the bard plays themselves. Those who don’t want to do that can use pre-made songs. The “self-composing” takes place through a futuristic-looking interface, a semicircle known as a step sequencer.
It sounds like one of the most exciting ideas of recent years. YouTuber Mogamu believes Bard Frame could be a lot of fun with potential for a social media cult. It will be interesting to see how it develops further. It is definitely something quite different. Spontaneous raves and bursts of music are possible, bringing light, color, and above all, music into the game.
The exact details of what the powers will do are still unknown. From the little that is seen, YouTubers believe it will be a range Warframe focused on crowd control or buff effects. But we likely won’t have to wait much longer for more information.
Recently, the Warframe Nidus was newly introduced. However, he does not shoot music, but exploding maggots.
