Battle Royale games are currently popular, which is why many developers want to get involved: Also Crytek with the online shooter Warface.
PUBG has shown how successful battle royale can be. And after Epic Games with Fortnite, Crytek is now also entering this area. The online shooter Warface from 2013 will receive a battle royale mode with the upcoming update.
Battle Royale Test in the Desert
The new mode will initially be introduced in a test phase to allow developers to gather player feedback. This feedback will then be implemented to improve the mode before it is officially integrated.
Some of the international versions of the game have already received the map that is intended for the battle royale mode. This is a large desert area, which according to Crytek is the largest map that has been developed for the shooter thus far.
Only 16 Players
Players spawn at random positions on the map, which then shrinks over time. Loot is also distributed randomly. According to current information, the battle royale mode is designed for 16 players, which is significantly fewer than the 100 that battle in PUBG. Whether this number is final or only used for testing purposes is not yet determined.
At this point in time, it is still unclear when the battle royale update for Warface will be released. Also, how long the test phase is supposed to last is not known. Since Warface has not yet been able to celebrate great success, the new mode is likely necessary to attract players to Crytek’s shooter.
