The “War Pilot in World War II” simulator War Thunder will support the Playstation 4 Virtual Reality headset Project Morpheus. Additionally, a new trailer is being released.
War Thunder is considered the flight simulator that is closest to reality and can give players the feeling of truly sitting in a cockpit. Although in other game modes labeled as “simulation”, the arcade experience is more in focus. A high priority at Gaijin Studios is to bring players as close as possible to the cockpits of historically accurate aircraft that then fight for supremacy over a burning Europe.
The Project Morpheus is being developed as a Virtual Reality headset for the PS4, but PC players do not need to envy console players, as War Thunder has already collaborated with Oculus Rift. They are fully committed to VR. Exact dates for when either headset will be released are not yet available – Oculus is mentioning 2015. Regardless of when it happens, it is now known: War Thunder will be part of it. The goal is to provide players with a breathtaking 360-degree view from the cockpit of the machines.
A somewhat dizzying prospect, but I also feel quite different when I’m standing on a step ladder. For those interested in War Thunder, the game is free-to-play, here is the registration on the official website.
