War Thunder receives its first new nation since the official release of the military shooter with Italy. The Italians make their debut with their impressive air force “Regia Aeronautica” in the next update. Tanks will follow later.
The last war nation introduced in War Thunder was the Empire of Japan and its successor with a handful of cool but also quirky tanks. Now, for the first time since the official release of the game, a new nation is coming: Italy with its air force.
War Thunder – Italian Air Force – Biplanes and Torpedo Bombers
With the next update “Regia Aeronautica”, the Italians are bringing their impressive air force into the game. In the early 30s, the “Royal Air Force” was indeed a serious air power that participated in the Spanish Civil War, among other conflicts. Even though some efficiency was lost due to misplanning and unfavorable political decisions by the time of entering the war, the Regia Aeronautica offers a lot of cool new aircraft for War Thunder.
So you can look forward to robust biplanes of the type Fiat CR.32. The aircraft can take a lot of punishment and can even drop bombs. Also cool are the Italian three-engine bombers of the type “SM.79 Sparviero” (Sparrowhawk) or CANT Z.1007 Alcione (Kingfisher). The CANT Z.1007 Alcione can even drop torpedoes and sink ships. Later aircraft are expected to include early jet fighters from the 1950s, as seen with other nations.
War Thunder – Italian Tanks Are Coming
With the Italy update, which will be released with the next patch in War Thunder, Gaijin’s military shooter will feature over 800 aircraft and vehicles. However, this won’t last long, as the Italian tank force is expected to join the game later as well.
Then you can look forward to notoriously ineffective tanks in reality, such as the “Carro Armato Fiat M13/40”, which was already somewhat outdated at the time of its commissioning and did not get any better during the course of the war. One can only hope that Gaijin will come up with a few useful vehicles for the Italians.
