War Thunder is launching a new, major update. With version 1.79 – Project X, the game is set to come to Xbox One. Additionally, the beta for naval battles is on the way. New tanks and planes are also included.
Mammoth update for War Thunder: Project X conceals the gigantic update 1.79 of War Thunder. Initially, it includes a whole bunch of new vehicles and aircraft. There are also new locations, improved sound, and the launch on Xbox One and Xbox One X, as well as the start of the naval battles beta!
The Xbox launch and the naval battles are coming soon, the rest is already live.
Modern new tanks!
As always, the new update brings a bunch of additional tanks. This time, the machines are particularly modern:
- XM-1 Chrysler: A premium tank for Xbox
- XM803: An American prototype
- AMX 40: A modern French tank
- Leopard 2A4: The latest Leo in the German fleet!
- Type 90: An extremely good Japanese tank
- T-62M1: The Russians are also getting new toys
- Chieftain Marksman: A Flak tank from the British
- Centurion Mk. V AVRE: A heavily armed tank that clears buildings
News from the Air Force!
For fans of air battles, there’s also something new:
- Fritz X: This German bomb is remote-controlled and ideal for precision bombing
- IL-28Sh: A heavy Russian aircraft
- FJ-4B: A US fighter-bomber with jet propulsion
- Bf 109Z: A new Messerschmidt
- IAR-81 C: A Romanian aircraft
- P-40F: An upgrade of the popular US aircraft
- Bf 110F/G: New versions of the good old Messerschmidt
Devastating Italy!
All this new war equipment can be tested on new maps. There is an Italy map where you fight in a picturesque Italian town. The map is available for ground battles and mixed combat. There is a map Ladoga only for aircraft.
Beta of Naval Battles is coming!
Soon the beta test for naval battles in War Thunder should finally start. In it, you can play and level up the complete tech tree of the Germans and Americans. Additionally, there are now light cruisers alongside fast boats and destroyers as the new largest ship class.
