The Xbox One X is currently the most powerful console on the market. However, according to the boss of the Russian developer studio Gaijin (War Thunder), the new Xbox even surpasses most gaming PCs in graphics performance. This is a good thing for developers.
The Xbox One X is Microsoft’s latest console. According to Gaijin Entertainment, the boss of the War Thunder developers, the Xbox One X with its massive graphical power can even outmatch most gaming PCs.
Clearly Superior in Terms of Graphics Performance
Anton Yudintsev is the CEO of the Russian development company Gaijin Entertainment. The studio is known for the tactical military MMO War Thunder as well as the fast-paced apocalyptic action game Crossout. In an interview with Gamingbolt, Anton Yudintsev discussed the advantages of the Xbox One X over other platforms.
The new Xbox is clearly superior to the other consoles on the market. However, according to Yudintsev, most gaming PCs would also be weaker in pure graphical power than the Xbox One X. The raw graphical performance [of the AMD Radeon] and the developer access to it is better on the Xbox One X than on most gaming PCs.
The New Xbox One X Should Bridge the Gap Between PC and Consoles
Of course, there are stronger high-end gaming PCs, but they are extremely expensive and rarely found even among gamers. The powerful Xbox One X is also an advantage for developers because the utilized x86 architecture reduces the performance gap between PCs and consoles. This allows developers to work better for both platforms.
Interestingly, recently another CEO stated otherwise. Michael Schade from the German developer studio Rockfish Games recently said that the Xbox One X, due to its relatively weak CPU, merely reaches the level of a mid-range gaming PC.
Is War Thunder something for you?
