An official game for “The Walking Dead” is in the works, aiming to leverage augmented reality like a year ago Pokemon GO. The Walking Dead: Our World is a mobile game for the App Store and Google Play. We have a trailer for you.
“The Walking Dead: Our World” will confront players with a different reality. Similar to a year ago Pokemon GO, the “real world” serves as the game world. In a statement, developer Next says the app will place players in a situation where they truly have to survive.

Currently, there is no release date for “The Walking Dead: Our World,” but there is a trailer.
The trailer clearly shows more action than in Pokemon GO: Taking down a zombie is indeed more complex than squeezing a monster into a ball.
In the trailer, players are seen grabbing a variety of weapons: the katana, a shotgun, and grenades are part of today’s zombie hunter’s arsenal.
It seems that cooperation with other players may also be possible – but how that will work in the game is another question. Trailers can be deceiving.
For those watching the trailer and fearing imminent disturbances at the next Lidl: It is not virtual reality – players will not be swinging in the empty air while standing at the checkout, but will only be staring at their smartphones. Not much different than now.
There isn’t much more information yet, but the game will be the “official mobile game” for “The Walking Dead” with support from TV channel AMD. Next has already released “No Man’s Land,” a Walking Dead game, which was downloaded around 15 million times. Pokemon GO has over 500 million. So there’s room for growth.
Currently, the only information is that the game is expected to come “soon” to the App Store and Google Play. Players will be able to slice down walkers on the streets, in the park, from the sofa, or anywhere else they feel like.
