With Renown, an interesting survival game is coming to Steam that looks like Rust in the Middle Ages. The focus is on expanding your castle and mastering melee mechanics on foot and horseback. MeinMMO briefly introduces the title to you.
Renown is a new survival game on Steam. A release date is not yet set; currently, it only says “2022 – 2023” on the Steam page (via steam.com).
How will Renown play? The survival game focuses on player interactions – the main emphasis is clearly on PvP. NPCs may come into the game as workers for your farm but are not expected to have a significant impact on the battles.
Like the survival hit Rust, you start without possessions. You craft tools, build a farm, gather wealth, and must protect your belongings from envious neighbors. Or you can go on a looting tour and clear out the neighbors’ storage.
The focus is entirely on the complex melee combat system and a certain beginner-friendliness. The motto for combat is: Easy to learn, hard to master. The building system does not put any stones in your way to quickly establish a safe fortress.
The mechanics are designed so that you can quickly and easily build and expand your base. A farm becomes a town, a town becomes a fortress, and in the end, there stands a mighty castle.
