Ravenswatch is a roguelike action RPG set to be released on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series, and the Epic Games Store. It comes from Passtech Games. With Curse of the Dead Gods, the studio previously had a real success title that achieved a strong 90 rating on the review aggregation site Metacritic. Therefore, Ravenswatch takes on a heavy legacy.
What kind of game is it? Ravenswatch is an action RPG played from an isometric perspective. It allows players to act alone or in co-op with up to 4 players.
Furthermore, Ravenswatch features a randomly generated world called Raverie, based on old folk tales and legends, implemented in a dark fantasy style.
The fairy tales and legends addressed in Ravenswatch range from the three little pigs to Norse mythology to One Thousand and One Nights.
The various heroes of the action RPG are inspired by figures from folk tales and legends and must free the world of Ravenswatch from nightmares that spread across Raverie.
Additionally, Ravenswatch is expected to present a tough challenge as a roguelike.
What does the trailer show? In the announcement trailer of Ravenswatch, we hear a narrator’s voice. Meanwhile, someone flips through a thick book. On the pages of the book, we see tales and stories such as The Pied Piper, Beowulf, and the Snow Queen.
After a brief black screen, the first gameplay scenes follow (from minute 01:00), providing a first look at various heroes, abilities/attacks, and enemies.
What do we know about the release? Ravenswatch will be released on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series, and in the Epic Games Store. It can already be added to the Steam wish list, but it does not yet have an exact release date. The planned release is currently set for 2023.
