In a new trailer, Riot Games announced the book “Ruination” for League of Legends. This is the first novel based on the game. The story revolves around the tragic accident that turned the Blessed Isles into the Shadow Isles. The book is told from the perspective of the champion Kalista.
When will the book be released? Ruination will be released in English on September 6, 2022. According to Amazon and the official publisher’s website, the German version will be published on October 4, 2022 (via droemer-knaur.de).
The story revolves around the champion Kalista and her uncle Viego, the king of the Blessed Isle. However, Viego was self-absorbed, selfish, and not fit to rule. Nevertheless, he was crowned after his brother’s death. As king, he met his wife, Isolde, and fell in love with her.
During an assassination attempt that Kalista tried to prevent, it was not Viego who was killed, but his wife. In a daring experiment, Viego attempted to resurrect his wife but caused a catastrophe. We witness this very catastrophe in the book – from Kalista’s perspective.
