The Series of Fallout is coming soon to Amazon Prime for Season 2, which is why new images and videos of the series are being released regularly. A fan had to share a new TV spot with the community, which mainly draws attention to the past.
What kind of clip is this? On Reddit, user Rare-Act-4466 posted a short clip about Season 2 of Fallout. Judging by the rating in the upper left and the length, it appears to be a spot that aired on regular television.
The spot shows countless short scenes in just 26 seconds that cover many aspects of the upcoming season. We see weapons, the Power Armor, action scenes, and many characters. The popular Deathclaw, at least the claw, is also shown. This seems to particularly interest the fans, as it could confirm important details about the time before the apocalypse.
A longer trailer for the season can be found here:
Fans are especially excited about one thing after the spot: The Past
What theory is this about? Under the still fairly new Reddit post, some fans have already gathered. The most important detail seems to be the Deathclaw, which appears to be fighting in Alaska. The human Cooper is also shown in a snowy area in Power Armor.
User dicchocolate02 (Reddit) even suspects that the Deathclaw is fighting against a Chinese soldier in the clip. These can only be scenes from the time before the Great War. Fans suspect that the series could confirm an important theory that even the original Fallout creator has talked about.
China and the USA
Before the Great War, which triggered the nuclear bombs in 2077 in the Fallout universe, China was at war with the USA over resources. China attacked Alaska due to its resource deposits. However, the Americans took back Alaska. But the dropping of nuclear weapons occurred, which destroyed both countries.
The new season could finally clarify who fired the nuclear weapons first. Season 1 does show that Vault Tec had planned such a thing. However, due to the sequence of scenes, it cannot be confirmed that Vault Tec really fired them first. Scenes about Alaska and the war with China could shed more light on the dark (source: Fallout Wiki).
The lead developer of the first Fallout game (1997), Tim Cain, already stated that China supposedly fired the first bombs (source: PCGamer). He further explains that the USA was supposed to have worked on bioweapons (like the Deathclaws), even though they were not allowed to. China therefore felt compelled to respond with nuclear weapons.
These events, while not canon
in the universe of the Bethesda games (from part 3) as Tim Cain himself says, could, however, be touched upon in the future, even in the series. Due to Cooper’s connection to Vault Tec, Season 2 would be a perfect opportunity for that.
Whether the past will be told in its entirety, we will find out soon. On December 17, 2025, it will begin, and Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
