What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a recurring event that takes place every week on Tuesday. During this time, there is one Pokémon that is highlighted and appears in very large numbers.
Additionally, there is a bonus that is active during this short event.
In the next Spotlight Hour on October 15, 2024, you can expect Knilz, the Grass-type Pokémon from Generation 3. It has an evolution, Kapilz, that not only takes on the Grass type but also the Fighting type.
Spotlight Hour on October 15 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? Like every week, the Spotlight Hour starts on Tuesday at 6:00 PM. After one hour, at 7:00 PM, it ends.
What bonuses are active? You will receive double the amount of Stardust for catching Pokémon during the Spotlight Hour.
Can you catch Shiny Knilz? Yes. If you are lucky, you may encounter the Shiny variant of Knilz.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? You can make great use of the Spotlight Hour to replenish your Stardust supply. Knilz is among the Pokémon that give you more Stardust per catch. Instead of 100, you’ll receive a whopping 500 Stardust.
With the event bonus, the amount doubles, so you will even receive 1,000 Stardust per catch. And if you activate a Star Piece, you will receive 1,500 Stardust with just one catch.
If you want to take full advantage of the Spotlight Hour with the maximum bonus, you should plan for 2 Star Pieces, as the item has a duration of 30 minutes.
If you plan to use Knilz and its evolution in raids, you will be disappointed. Knilz and Kapilz are neither among the best Grass-type nor Fighting-type attackers in Pokémon GO.
Neither Pokémon is particularly recommended for use in the battle leagues. You should rather rely on other Pokémon to be successful.
