Fortnite: Battle Royale has particularly come into the public interest since the big World Championship. In an interview with FOX, there was an embarrassing mistake where a “Cheat” was presented that caused a lot of ridicule among players.
What was said? In light of the hype around the big Fortnite World Championship, the American TV channel FOX managed to get the well-known eSports expert Rod Breslau for a short interview.
The segment itself was not particularly spectacular, and Breslau briefly explained the game and the tournament. What caused a stir was one of the graphics that the channel played during the interview.
One of the graphics described, among other things, that you could buy “Add Ons” for Fortnite and that there was a winning cheat: “Hide in bushes until the end of the game and sometimes you win without doing anything.”
“Winning Cheat” Causes Mockery and Ridicule Online
What’s the tactic behind it? What Fox promotes as a winning tactic and a “Way to Cheat” is indeed possible. However, the chances of being able to hide in a bush for the entire match and seeing all the other players eliminate each other or burn in the storm, only to triumphantly achieve the “Epic Victory” at the end, are exceedingly slim.
Fun Fact: I, Jürgen, have actually won that way once.
Moreover, hiding in bushes is not even prohibited. In fact, there is even a specific item that converts players into bushes until they are hit. So one cannot even really talk about a “cheat.”
This is how the community reacted: It didn’t take long for fans to pick up the topic and ruthlessly mock it:
- Pro player Sypher via Twitter: Why do I bother creating tutorial videos when the news just broadcasts this high-level strategy for victories that require no effort?
- Dety via Twitter: “Sypher, you really played the game wrong the whole time!”
Especially cheeky: Pro player Sypher used the situation to poke fun at the Solo World Champion Bugha: “You need to explain yourself. Did you use the bush cheating strategy or not?”

Additionally, there are funny memes on Reddit featuring screenshots of bushes with the caption “Look, I caught a cheater!”
