Original report – What happened? In the evening of April 3rd, Apex Legends released an update. It was supposed to bring some quality of life changes. However, it instead introduced a serious bug into the game.
Players on social media are emotional and demanding a quick resolution to the problem.
This is the big problem: Players report that they suddenly lost all progress after logging into Apex Legends. Everything is gone except for the Apex Coins. One player writes:
- “I was at Battle Pass level 41, had several legendary skins, was overall at level 71, and had all characters. After this patch, it looks like I’ve never played a match. Please fix this, thank you!”
Many are now demanding a rollback of the update. They fear that the problems would otherwise persist.
So many players are affected: On Reddit, a megathread has been opened. Over 800 comments came in within half an hour. Hundreds of players are complaining that their entire progress is gone.
Outage in Apex Legends – Support gives update
What does Respawn say? The Apex Legends team has already reacted on Twitter and explained that they are tracking down the bug.
At about 7:40 PM, they took the servers of Apex Legends offline. Now they are likely actively working on the bug. Therefore, it seems there is an outage in Apex Legends for the players.
The Apex Legends team advises that you do not buy or craft anything until the problem is fixed.

Apex Legends patch notes from April 3rd
The new update is supposed to bring the following quality of life changes:
- The ability to invite players from the last squad to your own group
- A mute button in the intro and during legend selection
- If you report a player in the PC version, you can now choose “Cheater” or “Other”
- UI improvements in legend customization
- Messages leading to the detection of crashes (insufficient memory, overheating of the processor)
- Octane’s jump pads are no longer used by players who use the Into-the-void ability
Additionally, further bug fixes and stability improvements.
