Only a few hours left, and for most people, it’s the weekend! A lot of free time to do all the things you didn’t have the chance to do during the week, such as gaming. Therefore, we want to know: What are you playing this weekend?
Another week has passed, and the prospect of two free days full of gaming pleasure is likely to delight many gamers. The upcoming weekend is particularly interesting for fans of fantasy and brutal melee action.
Games this Weekend – For Honor – Romans vs. Ninjas
Two games are particularly worth playing this weekend: One of them is For Honor. Ubisoft’s bloody melee battleground began its second season this week. This includes even more areas to conquer, a revamped item system, and two completely new hero classes.
One of them is the burly Centurion, who – admittedly quite anachronistically – fights on the side of the Knights as a combo-intensive hybrid class. On the side of the Samurai, the Shinobi comes into play, a swift ninja who is faster than all other heroes and can strike from a distance with his Kusarigama fighting sickles. Unfortunately, these two new heroes are currently only available to owners of a season pass. All other players will get them on May 23.
Games this Weekend: The Elder Scrolls Online – Prepare for the Journey
Another game that is likely to be very popular this weekend is The Elder Scrolls Online. In ZeniMax’s Elder Scrolls MMO, early access for PC players to the highly anticipated addon Morrowind begins on Monday, May 22. Therefore, many players will already be preparing for the start of the addon and dig out their old heroes for Vvardenfell.
After all, Morrowind offers plenty of new content, including an island full of exotic animals and plants, a living god who needs your help, an entire city as a raid, and PvP battlefields. To be optimally prepared, you can start collecting crafting materials, completing old quests, and thinking about your builds, because the Morrowind update will significantly alter some heroes – like the Templar.
What is the Editorial Team Playing?
As gaming editors, hardly a day goes by without us gaming, and on the weekend, we are equally unstoppable. Here are the highlights of the editorial team for the upcoming weekend:
- Leya will soon dive deeper into the Final Fantasy addon Stormblood and this weekend will unusually not destroy her enemies with Eevie in Paladins. Instead, she will play Final Fantasy 14, to be optimally prepared for Stormblood.
- Schuhmann, the boss, has a new passion: Marvel Future Fight, an action MMO with Marvel heroes from the new Korean gaming giant Netmarble, which he plays on his iPad. But don’t worry, the boss remains loyal to “real” games as well and balances it out by diving into ESO, as he also wants to venture to Vvardenfell on Monday with his old Khajiit Nightblade.
- Ttime will be playing – as always – Destiny this weekend, but this time he is also drawn to the blood-soaked battlefields of For Honor. Since he has a season pass, he can play the new heroes early. Especially the burly Centurion has captured his interest, as he has brutal executions.
- Patrick will be much more peaceful this weekend and is looking forward to long walks with his dog. The Adventure Week event is happening in Pokémon Go, and there are all sorts of rocky beasts to catch.
- Cortyn will only be playing analog games offline this weekend since she has guests and doesn’t want to be rude.
I, Jürgen, unfortunately only have time to game properly on the PC this evening, as I unexpectedly have to leave over the weekend. But still, I will let loose in For Honor today, and as a Raider, I will murder innocent Shinobis. So far, most players have not optimally mastered the new hero, and even a casual For Honor player like myself can manage a few kills. For the rest of the weekend, I will play Schuhmann’s insider tip Marvel Future Fight on my tablet and finally finish the current DSA adventure in my Pen&Paper group.
