From this evening, everyone can expect an extra long weekend, for those who were lucky enough to get Friday off. Such “mini-holidays” are ideal for a good gaming session. So what will you play during the long weekend?
It’s only Wednesday, but thanks to the holiday on Thursday and the bridge day on Friday, many employees across the country are already done for the day. Those who don’t want to spend the many free days just grilling and engaging in other analog activities can indulge in gaming on their PC or console.
Games for the Weekend – Overwatch Celebrates Anniversary
Ideal for the long weekend is, for example, Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch. The game is celebrating its anniversary until June 12 in the Anniversary Event. In this event, you can play new game modes in the arena and participate in 3vs3 or 1vs1 matches.
As always, there are also new loot boxes containing special skins. However, the new emote dance animations that you can get from the boxes are particularly cool.
Marvel Heroes Omega for PS4 in Open Beta
PS4 players can look forward to the open beta of Marvel Heroes. The superhero brawler has now been released as an open beta and can be played for free by any PS4 player.
And on this special day, you also get the hero Daredevil. You just need to download the client for PS4 and log in, then the “Devil of Hell’s Kitchen” is yours. The open beta is considered a soft launch and will not have any further wipes.
The Elder Scrolls Online – Vvardenfell Vacation for Early Birds
The Elder Scrolls Online will receive the major Morrowind expansion on June 6, but those who pre-ordered on PC have already been able to venture into Vvardenfell since Monday. There, you can do everything that will also be available on June 6: play the new Warden, visit PvP battlegrounds, and explore the beautiful island of Vvardenfell. Unfortunately, this promotion is only available for PC players.
What is the Editorial Team Playing?
Since we in the editorial team still need to take care of news and cool articles, unfortunately, we don’t have complete time off during the long weekend, but there’s always time for gaming:
- Leya is currently roaming in Hamburg at a press event, playing Final Fantasy 14 and hanging out with FF14 head Naoki Yoshida personally. So expect some cool Stormblood articles in the near future.
- Schuhmann completely messed up his character in ESO on Monday. His Redguard isn’t suitable as a Warden, so he’ll need to create a new character in ESO Morrowind over the weekend.
- Ttime is playing something other than Destiny this weekend, but rather the legendary Tales from the Borderlands. After Leya, Cortyn, and I stared at him in shock when he revealed his ignorance of this masterpiece, he just had to make up for it. Oh, and he’s also playing The Division with Update 1.6.1.
- Patrick has caught the Overwatch fever. Therefore, he will be playing ONLY Overwatch all weekend to really collect all the new skins and emotes. Wish him luck!
- Cortyn still has her guests at home, keeping her from online games. She will also spend a lot of time at RPC in Cologne.
I, Jürgen, will spend a lot of time in The Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind leveling my Khajiit Warden and trying out different skill trees. Any similarities to my cat are purely coincidental. I will also be at the RPC in Cologne; maybe I’ll meet some of you there!
